Late game lag fixed? in Sins of a Solar Empire Sins Forums

So, I played sins alot in the past, and i loved it, but the day came when mid/late game lag pissed me off and made me quit. I have a powerful computer, but the game always went into slideshowmode with 10fps when the game started to get interesting. I remember looking into this, cause the problem persisted even when I got a new computer, and I found a forum post saying everyone had this problem and it was related to bad code or something. I really wanna get back into this game,
