@Volt: IIRC, even if you can do arbitrary sized adders, those are only primitive recursive functions , so still not Turing complete. And adders are not enough to even cover all primitive recursive functions. For example, can you write a chain of entities that computes "proper subtraction", i.e., a ∸ b defined as "If a ≥ b then a-b else 0"? For instance, in the system selected, subtract the (total) numbe

Myself not being a huge youtube fan, I've just discovered (5 months later or so) that TotalBiscuit did a piece on OpenRA ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1-VwE1byrY ). For those [like me] that didn't know about it, OpenRA is a Red Alert, Dune 2000 etc. re-engine effort that looks ok in that video. Video in which TotalBiscuit can't help but share his thoughts on the [d]evolution of genre in general, of course.
And for anyone thinking that paid early access is some kind of mana for the consumer (as opposed to being mana for the developer, which it is), please listen to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyGbbIB5eaM (you don't have to watch the video part because it is de minimis relative to the audio-conveyed info).
And come think on the topic of this thread, what Sins:R could have benefited from (but two years ago) is a review like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_QK-lcW8a8

LoL posted a nice video recently ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FiSNHAJHu-c ) on the importance they place on the connection between gameplay and the visuals associated with that, as well as general accessibility concerns. I can [alas] use Sins as a textbook example of how to do most of that poorly: hard-to-see weapons fire effects, especially on the TEC side weapons with long [burst] timers

[quote who="Heavenfall" reply="75" id="3476677"] Neither Planetary Annihilation nor DoW2:Retribution gave you any boosts in multiplayer if you paid more. What are you talking about? PS. I think I'm the only person on this forum to have played vs. himself full-length matches (thus ensuring near equal skill level, almost by definition, on both sides) and I can tell you that the Vasari will not get to have " 5+ overseers" in any game with 3-jumps (o less) between them and the enemy. As the game is "balanced" in 1.82, the Vasari extractors and labs will die before then even without movable SBs on the TEC/Advent side. There are presently some annoying bugs in the dev exe
[quote who="XWerewolfX" reply="65" id="3476624"] DOTA2 and all those MOBA's are crap and exactly what is wrong with mainstream gaming nowadays. Hero (capital ship) abilities can leveled four times and they have an ultimate one too (levelable 3 times in Dota 2, but only twice in Sins:R)... check! "Captain's Mode" (in Dota) is the PUG practiced on ICO.
Strange that you don't include Dota 2 in that round up. It dwarves everything else, IIRC.
After looking at the financials of PA, I see why frogboy sounds envious of them. I'm not sure I really want to suggest this as a user, but Planetary Annihilation (which frogboy is well aware of) not only has gathered twice the necessary Kickstarter funds (over $2M pledged, target sum was $0.9M), but also managed to sell alpha/beta access at nearly $200 a pop thereafter (to those who "missed" the Kickstarter phase), something that would make envious even AAA title makers, no doubt. The user reactions have been a little skeptical on the latter:
I realize this mod was proposed in 2012, but with the nerfs that the Vasari got along the way, if you want to have a semblance of balance with this mod in 1.82, you need a few extra things: Vasari repair plat doing 25-35/s (possibly with a research tier) not 15/s. Vasari skirmisher (LF) costing 6 supply at the most, although something like 5.5 would be more adequate, so buffing it by some 10% in dmg & hull at 6 supply is okay too Assailant costing 5 supp
It turns out Steam lists all localized versions of the game. They only list English and Japanese, so there are apparently no other localization/regionalization versions of Sins:R.
With 40$ (assuming US ones) you could have bought almost four licenses at the last Steam sale. (It was thirty-something euros for me for a 4-pack.) Alas getting friends to play Sin:R is more of a challenge than buying/gifting them licenses because of the MP bugs, but alas not the one you mentioned... If you didn't buy Sins Rebellion from Steam, GameStop, GamersGate, The Humble Store, or the devs directly, it's almost certainly a pirated version. (I assume you
[quote who="DirtySanchezz" reply="18" id="3476271"] The game's ICO activity can be reinvigorated by STEAM sales. So it's hard to say where the game will be in six months. What would happen if it sold on STEAM for $5 at some point? As the game gets older its price will decrease, allowing for even lower sale prices that could pack the server full of players. Check your galaxy file in a text editor. You might have some random (planet) ring in there, which will generate a bunch of planets. If you can't figure out yourself what's wrong with it even that way, post the galaxy code on pastebin and someone will probably take look.
I've updated the OP with inline images and corrected an [obvious] error in the rule of thumb for non-zero repair.

I'm really glad it turned out this way. It would have been totally daft if a single common word trademarked as part of a company name somehow became off limits for anyone else in the [same] industry. Image if "Command and Conquer" (I don't know if that's trademarked, but it could well be) resulted in both "command" and "conquer" being off limits for anyone else titling a game, etc. I'm saddened that you guys [probably] had to pay the Biglaw firm mentioned for this common sense
