I can't imagine having 8 friends who have the time or inclination to play a weekly regular game from start to finish, probably over several weeks. I have to say I think you're wide of the mark there if you think people know more than a couple of other people who are prepared to play a multi-player game at the same time, outside of forum-arranged games.
