Oh i also figured that Economist AI are worthless at fighting, just like Unazaki said, increasing AI intelligence only increases its usefulness moderately, Agressors - well now, Aggressors are definitely a tougher AI to deal with. Vicious AIs cheat alot... i was 1st in economy but when i look at end of game line graphs, the AI produced 11x more Credits than me through planet income..

Ah, thanks for the answers and tips everyone. So i played Vasari seriously the other day, and "wow" they're really strong, one of my Vortul Caps took out 30 Cobalts and 3 Kodiaks solo with Power surge on Autocast. Initially, i hardly need to focus on economy, just build lots of ships and steal planets real fast. Unlike TEC where i focus alot into building trade ports. Vasari seem to be have a decent Metal and Crystal income but always short of money, when i play TEC

Ah yes, i remember the Novaliths, but the pirate base was kinda smack in between me, my only ally and an enemy Vasari AI - i could go around it, but it would take longer and trade ships kept flying through it (and AI envoys). The Vasari AI made their own phase lines and didn't have to travel through it. (It was a random generated map so it wasn't particularly balanced.)

Oh and it seems that the starbase with lvl 2 trade ports product always 10.5 Credits per second and doesn't seem to be affected by a planet's population or allegiance and neither does culture hinder the trade ports performance. Is this true?

What do people mean by "stops a trade route"? - i find my trade ships flying through enemy planets to get to trade ports owned by my allies, or travelling through Gas worlds, dead asteroids, clouds, Star systems etc For gas giants, put a starbase with trade port upgrades (lvl 2) and a hangar bay, makes sure that no stray AI colony frigs take those neutral extractors from you.

Anyone think the pirates are overpowered? As i approach late game - a pirate attack was launched at one of my most defended planets, i laughed at them and ignored them. Then 10 minutes later, the pirates kill the colony, blow through a Full-starbase (Max Hangar, Hull and weapons) - and 20 Guass cannons and 4 repair platforms. So i played with some "Vicious" AIs in diplomacy - wow, they're nuts, they build ships soooo quickly, i wonder how they managed to build so many ships, it says on the leaderboards that i'm first in Credits, Metal and Crystal but i'm last in fleets... anyways all they do is build carriers and heavy cruisers - had 200 Gardas and they all died from bombers, where's that Kol? >:| ...love the new additions though lol - esp. like sending 40K Crs worth of pirates at enemy planets.

I think this is my fifth game in Sin of Solar Empire (Entrenchment) - i took on three "Unfair" Aggressor AI's, All Vasari (all teamed up against me) and man... it was such a long game, took me nearly a week to finish (played in intervals of 2-3 hours).
