thats fine, i dont have a problem paying early, i just wanted to be clear that what was stated in the pre-order faq (which i can no longer find) that the money wasnt charged, it was only a hold, was not the case here, thats all. if it was the case, it wouldnt be a problem. its not like getting jacked for an extra $5 is going to break the bank or something, its just the principle of the thing and all that... not that i think that will actually happen, im sure stardock will write me back

ohh ok, i was unaware it wouldnt be carried at retail. well in that case, i dont want the CE then. a cd and poster etc isnt worth $25, not to me anyway. thanks for clearing that up. as for the preorder price... please understand, i didnt "preorder"... i "prePAID"... i was charged $44.95 in july of 2007... not a "hold" or what have you, i used my debit card, the money came out of my account... and ive paid more than the price now... so i DO want the $5 charged back to my card if possible
its the "+s/h" that gets me. id much rather just cancel the stardock order, get my $45 back, walk into gamestop, and walk out with the CE for $50. im not keen on either a) not opting to get the CE and being out the extra $5 ($45 i paid vs $40 MSRP) or b) getting the CE and being out another $20 (+$5 +$15 s/h)... really not trying to rain on the parade or anything, i just think thats kind of an all-around raw deal no matter how you slice it for the folks that showed a good bit of faith b
yeah i sent them an email... thing is im pretty much 100% sure that i didnt pay for the shipped copy (if such a thing was offered at the time) because, like i said, i dont pay shipping for games, i just buy them retail... so since i didnt know there was going to be a CE at the time, i would definitely not have paid for the box, and if i *had* known, i wouldnt have paid at all :) so now im in a little bit of a bind... i really dont want to buy the game twice...
oh no, im not trying to be a little bitch about it or anything, sorry if i sound that way... im just trying to figure out a) how i get my $5 back and b) is there some way to get the CE without shelling out for another $25? really, had i known there was going to be a CE, id have just waited to buy the boxed product instead of prepaying... because id much rather just walk into gamestop and not pay for shipping...
ok ive gone back and looked at the email receipt and it does indeed say "Sins of a Solar Empire (Digital Download Preorder) $44.95 Quantity: 1"... so i guess i didnt get the shipped version... although i dont remember that being an option. a collectors edition CERTAINLY wasnt an option. i kinda really do want the collectors edition... so... i kinda want to cancel the stardock purchase, and just buy the boxed copy in the store... because im not super keen on paying an extra $25 ($10 for
i dunno if i paid for the shipped version or not. near as i remember, there was no option at the time. this was back in june last year. as far as i remember there was only the option of paying $44.95 for the game... none of which answers my question of: where the heck did my $5 go?
same here. i was a little surprised when i saw on shacknews that it was gold, and going for $40... i was like, hang on, im pretty sure i paid more than that... dug out the email receipt and yep, i did. and i also dont get the fancy extras even though i paid in full 9 months ago. i thought, well, maybe i just thought they charged my card, but really they didnt... so i dug up the bank records... no, they did, they charged the full price at the time of the order. so now im a wee b
ok, so i see that sins of a solar empire has gone gold. and that it will be retailing for $39.95. problem is, i prepaid for it, and i paid $44.95. so... what the heck? do i get my $5 back? also, i see that there is going to be a collector's edition for $10 more. how do i get that? do i send you an extra $50 (since youve already got $5 more than the boxed price) and i get upgraded? i think it would really be pretty crappy if i prepaid the game in an effort to support its develop
