I would like an option in Start8 to link to the Videos, etc. folders (Windows 8.1 behavior) rather than the libraries (Windows 7 behavior). I have tried creating them in custom folders, but when I remove the original library link, the custom folder stops showing up as a folder and instead links to the library. If both custom and link are shown, then the custom folder shows and acts as a folder. I don't know if that's a bug or a feature, but I would like a simple check box to l
In Win 7, you can drag and drop items in the jump lists both on the taskbar and in the start menu, to put a pinned item on top of, or under, other items. In Start8, you have to launch the application and do the reordering on the taskbar, or pin it to the taskbar outright. It would be nice to have this drag-and-drop reordering on the Start menu as well as in the taskbar.
AH yes, I remember that one now, and that is a beast to get rid of. Will try to eliminate the beasty once again, and I'll let you know if I have any more troubles. So far, no crashes after setting the search scope to look outside libraries, however.
1: is there a way to search the forums? Having a similar problem with v 1.10. Sometimes when I press Start button and very quickly begin to type my search, explorer.exe crashes. I am trying the "Search should include..." option to see if it continues. I had that box unchecked when the errors occurred. I will check it and see if it resolves the issue. Other atypical setup includes using the custom win8start.png image for start button, and I recently switched from the "Windows 7 Theme" with translucency enabled to the "Default Theme"
