Another question for Devs of GF. I noticed you can't add all ships and modules to templates (The Vas Phase Shifter comes to mind) there seems to be a few for each race. I think its 3 tactical modules and 2-3 ships (Cruisers). Is this intentional?
My question is, can a map be made with 20 stars and 2-3 planets around each star? Or 50 stars with planets only around 1/3rd of them, so there would be a lot of plantless stars.
You can make a map that crashes your system. ;) I tried one that was 15 starts with 20 planets each and it changed but there is no hard cap. The cap is the power of the system. On the militia one you have to click off the use default template to use your made ones. But your right th
I have 2 issues which I am not sure are bugs or something with my settings. The first is when I pause the game the empire list does not update(AKA If I scroll it everything blanks out) and the second is that it constantly wats to scroll all the way to the bottem if I am at top trying to click on ships pined under a fleet. Is there a way to fix either of these through settings or is it a known issue?
There are no dev codes (Note to Devs, an Option to set Starting Resources in games (for each player) at the Map Player selection screen would be handy though). Most dev codes are there to help testers test later content without having to do the early stuff over and over. Since SoaSE is so modable they didn't have to do that.
... note that any planet that has one is considered to be on the network, much like the Hivers in SotS (bleh) with their gates; you can have 3 gates, and you can travel to any of the other two systems from your starting point.
Thats my point, I built one at about 7 on differetn planets and my ships still take the LONG way. At one point I had a planet under attack 4 jumps away (it had a PS), the system my fleet was in also had a PS (both had it both in the same system)
I built a few and researched all the way up to "call dark fleet" and I see the button for than but how do you make the phase lanes? My ships keep using the same old routs and taking forever. Do you have to have a lvl 5 cap ship with that ability?
Does the number of labs matter other than the threshold number for a Tech? Does say 10 labs of a type get you faster research than say 6 or 5? I ask because I played one game where every planet had 1 of each lab and another where I had allot less labs and it seemed it went the same speed.
And has anyone figured out how to give planets custom militia defenses?
You DClick on the planet then make a new scenario template and add 3 groups to it one for each race (if you want one for each) and in thoes groups you put the race/ship/mdule combos you want the planet to start with. Then you highlight the new te
Yea, no limit but on a single core I find it starts to chug around 300
Another Question: When making a planetary template I DClicked the planet went to scenario templates then added new one, then added 3 groups, one for each race but while adding items I added a tec to a psi. I tried to remove it but nothing happened. Delete didn't work nor clear all. I had to delete then remake a group. Is there a way to delete an item from a group I just didn't find?
Is there a way in the GF Tool to have any cap ship or ship added to worlds with a template not count against the Capt/Supply? Or can that be changed? If it can be changed could someone point me at the correct file?
If you set up the teams so you and your friend start in the right place, then you should be able to crank up the player credits and stuff for those two players... did you try it?
Hmmm no we did an alliance in game. Is thi done from the teams menu or in GForge? Will have to check that out.
So for whatever reason its reseting to default values for the starting credits.
Halefix: That was what I was asking about. Your problem is that the game randomly assign players so the 1st player on list is NOT always player0. What is prob. happening is that you were comming in as, say, player4 or a non edited number player. If you keep trying you will eventually get to be player0 but you have to start and quit until you do.
Enigma: There isn't a nice way (yet... we'll probably add this as it seems pretty handy), but if you were trying to play a 2 vs 8 with the AI, then try putting your two human players on a team. Then you should start off in the right spots.
Yea, we eventualy did that but was wondering so we could set handicaps for/against the humans (say, give more or less cred, etc to humans players using the edit players or start them with or without ships or structures.) Hope it makes
I had same issue when I made a scratch map. It let me edit some of the scnario maps fine so its probably something not being set. I got bot defeat and victory instant popups (Had 2 homeworlds). Maybe too many planets in one system? (had about 10). I wasn't a tester. On the 2 Victory ones I did see planets. I was thinking maybe it was a planet template problem?
Question: If I use the random map generator and get a sweet map is there a way to save it after playing it? Or is only way is to preview and then save?
Is there a way to set where the players will star on which planets? We have 2 human players as the first and second and then 8 NPC ones so we changed player0 and player one but it seems each time it set us on different player start planets (Randomized start possitions). Is there any way to make it so the player starts are the same number as in the setup list (AKA 1st is player0 and last player9)?
Not sure what the issue is. I pre-Ordered and got my SN# already and have the game 69% D/Led. But I ordered mine a month ago, not sure if that matters.
Or go to www.stardoc.com and sign in. It should have an area with it under "My Account" and Registrations. Also here: [link="https://www.stardock.com/support/"]Stardoc Support[/link]
I only got 1 and went through the same process. In face the game was listed in SDC as a purchased game before I got the e-mail with the SN#. Had a 502/kb sec Dl. Even had a recovery of the DL when a cat knocked over my wireless router. Went pretty smooth for me.
But you can mod it so you could make additional stuff. :CONGRAT:
Will the Sins site have a mod library like GalCiv did or will it all be 3rd party sites?
Will Sins have a mod Library on its site like GalCiv did? [link="https://www.galciv1.com/library.asp?"]GalCiv Mod Library[/link]
Another Noob Question: Is it possible in MP to have 2 human players Ally and play against Bots, maybe an alliance win option? My wife likes the game but she doesn't like to play against friends and Family.
Ouch, we can play at work and when one of use gets a call we need to stop. Is there a global chat you can say "Hey call Stop!"?
