How to disable Massive Pirate Invasion Mega Event in Galactic Civilizations II GalCiv2 Forums

Hi, So on my 2nd game, things where going really well until an event spawned tons of high-tech pirate fleets around the map. Despite being in a really strong position compared to other nations, my fleet was crushed even against a smaller subset of a random pirate fleet. I know they won't invade or replenish ships, so that I can still win in the long run or just simply go for tech win, but it seems cheesy and really boring, so I'm just going to restart! I don&#3
