Note that having a starbase with Enduring Devotion will mean that only you can colonize that planet after it's been destroyed by Wail (or if it was made neutral by culture and then the culture was pushed back). Any other faction that tries to colonize it will have to go through the starbase first.

They both have one useful ability (Flak Burst on the Kol, Detonate Antimatter on the Radiance) as opposed to other caps that are useful in more ways. They're also not "battleships" that do extremely well at single combat and tanking - the Kol's direct combat abilities take up too much antimatter for i

Shield Regeneration is very helpful against TEC but worthless against Vasari. Malice has a targert cap of 24.... minor annoyance. [/quote] Da fuq. Your arguments seem to be very late-game centric and fight-the-Vasari centric, and as you can see are sort of a devil's advocate PoV. Holistically the Progen is a brilliant ship IMO

I use some customized hotkeys fairly often - the q,w,e,r,t set for manual casting of abilities 0-4, the a,s,d,f,g set for toggling autocast on abilities 0-4, k & l for dock/launch strikecraft. And band-boxing + tabbing is useful for catching moving units... I can never catch them by trying to click on them, esp. strikecraft and vettes. As for planet/econ control, that's basically entirely clicking for me, since the planet control card is good enough. What would

Regarding LRFs being useless, Why single them out? Sins is a complicated game of options with a (slowly) evolving metagame. Naturally the players will reach an equilibrium after every system alteration. There was a time when the equilibrium was shifted so far in LRFs' favor that LFs were pretty useless. Now the equilibrium has shifted elsewhere. The way I see it, there's a lot of stuff that's really great because of how things just happened to turn out. TEC/Advent

Play Advent Loyalists. Research Mine Control. Let your Aeria Drone Hosts fly through the mine fields. They are now yours. Otherwise, set a scout to local area targeting, have some flak set to follow it, and set them on to the minefield that needs clearing. If you can afford to do so, fly an effing Titan through the minefield and then use shield-recharging and/or hull-repairing abilities on it.

The game's design is inherently hard to balance. There's the main map area where everyone starts (4 factions in 2 pairs with each pair having adjacent homeworlds), off to one side is the pirate base, off to the other side is the wormhole. Beyond the wormhole there is the star, and there are 3 chains each of 3 uncolonizable gravity wells that end in dead asteroids. To find the "remains of ancient starships" you need to colonize the dead asteroids and upgrade the Explore Planet development twice. It will give your faction an artif

Regarding the Vasari: how do we know which of the OP effects are intentional design and which ones are bugs? I would guess that Maw, Phasic Trap and Disruptor Nanites are all bugged; I know that Maw chain-gobbling is unintended and it's supposed to have a target cap. But I don't know why they would design Vasari basic static defenses to be so pointlessly powerful by intention. In regards to the Phase Missiles, I would agree with the idea that Phase Missiles are the problem at all, just that the bombers that presently deploy them are. There are no problems with the Phase Missiles on capital ships, starbases, turrets and Assailants. Just those on bombers. While all bombers are capable of alpha-striking capital ships, Vasari need a lot less, especially against Advent ships, and tend to obliterate them while their shields are still very high. If
