I just posted something similiar on the main board... I always like to see statistics on how I'm doing historically - specially if I don't remember how I did with various starting settings...

As much as I like the metaverse, I'd still like to see a local hall of fame similiar to that in Alpha Cenauri -keeping track of: best scores with each starting party highest social score, military score, etc quickest victory best scores for starting size Anyone else feel this way? Or am I too much of a loner?
Had same experience last night - posted score like I did the other times - still hasn;t shown up 12 hours later. Guess I'll have to go back to my last save game, and repost again...
I've seen this on my own system - after playing a long time (over 4 hours), the UI seems to have problems loading new ship images - so they come up blank (for all new ship classes built). Sometimes I'll see other strange UI problems also (starbases disappear, UI text gets doubled up in the helpful hints windows). Exiting out and going back in seems to fix it for a while.
1) More comprehensive reporting: trade goods, ships owned, resources owned etc. Mainly I'm thinking of a report like in Europa Universalis. A lot of this information is already available - but buried in subscreens all over the interface 2) More useful espionage functionality. As implemented currently, it is not very useful (all the useful information we want is already in the little graphs window already). Would be nice if it had information like in MOO or Civ 1-3 (ships, all techs rese
I'll second "The Planets". If you want to sub in another products in-game music - mechwarrior 2 (and expansions) had a fantastic soundtrack.
Wow! Didn't expect a developer to answer - any report that could shed light on that would make the game much easier! And, if your still reading this - any chance of a comprehensive reporting screen like Europa Universalis in a future update?
Besides taking lots of detailed notes of in game popups - is their any way to figure out: What trade goods I have What trade goods I license What trade goods others have What trade goods others license I've been poking around the UI - can't seem to find that info anywhere. Is it in the save game file in some readable format? many thanks to whomever could answer this...
For the record - VGA Planets does have a form of tactical combat - and no "star lines". Perhaps something along those lines could be implemented (tactical combat, preset tactical options - so combat is done automatically).
In my last game, I used the Draginol to win the game for me - I made peace with them first chance I got. Then their overpowered military did what mine couldn't -defeat all those other nasty empires. At that point I had influence modifiers up to high heaven, so every time they took another enemy system, I usually ended up with cultural domination of it...

Is the minor-race expansion restriction something hard-coded into the AI, or is it something the user can configure in a file somewhere? It would be pretty cool if you could make the game more of a free-for-all like in Europa Universalis or Medieval Lords (an old favorite)...
Or if their is another webpage/link (I couldn't find one) that already has the info I'm looking for - I wouldn't mind doing a little reading to get educated if someone can point it out to me...
I wasn't able to participate in the beta, so I am curious regarding one game mechanic - civil wars. Is civil war an event that can happen to the human player, as well as the computer players? Can it be triggered by a player initiated event (like taking the capitol, in the original Civilization), or only be random events? If a computer race (say, the Yor) have a civil war, do both factions use the Yor AI, or does one of them use the Yor, and the other use the generic m
Is their any information public yet on the future plans for Galciv over the next year after publication? I know that their are plans to update the product with new AI routines, UP resolutions, etc - but anything besides that? A more modular unit system like Alpha Centauri would be nice... thanks, Daniel
