I just realized I can't download WindowsBlinds anymore too. So it is definitely not a GalCiv issue. I wonder who should I contact for SDC problems? Also, it doesn't seem to be an WinXP only issue. I tried installing on a Win2k machine, with the same results. ~SDC~

I'm also having the same problem using SDC 1.01a.175 build 16. I've tried downloading on 3 machines : 1 at work, and 2 at home. I don't think its an Internet issue as the home and office use different ISPs, and I can download SDC from the Galciv site without problems. The only thing these 3 machines have in common is that they all run WinXP.

>The newest build is 1.01a.175 build 16 It looks like the update/download problem still exists in 1.01a.175 build 16. I've tried reinstalling SDC, but no go. The same "Invalid chunk data." error appears at the beginning of the download. Er, I uninstalled GalCiv too, so now I don't even have an old version to play.:sniff!: Any suggestions? ~SDC~

Hi CariElf >well, I've never tried doing CTRL+SHift+clicking. Try just shift clicking. Oh, really? I remembered you suggesting this operation to someone in one of the posts. > And can I have your save game to run tests with? Sure thing. I'll send it to you as soon as I get back home. ~SDC~

Crash in 1.04 Beta: If you have 100+ colonies each cranking out improvements or constructors in a single turn, the Info-Net list on the right side of the main interface becomes garbled. If you try to delete the Info-Net messages using Ctrl+Shift and click, Galciv crashes. ~SDC~

A build-list similar to the one used for Planetary Improvements, but used for Starbases would be nice. Here's what I propose: 1. You would assign a Starbase build-list to a governor in the same way as Planetary Improvements. 2. When a building a constructor, the planetary screen would provide several extra options in addition to auto-launch: a. No assign b. To same sector c. To governor "abcd" 3. Constructors set to "same sector" would automatically move to

Howdy all, I noticed that the majority of CTDs on my machine seem to happen right after autosave. I set autosave to "off", and I was able to continuously play over 4 hours without a CTD! Folk experiencing frequent CTDs may want to try changing their autosave settings. ~SDC~
