Wow, what an obnoxious post (the OP, that is). SD/IC, you do know that people like this tend to be isolated from what I like to call "reality." So I agree with Annatar--too bad you even had to waste your time reading this thread.

Weird, I've never really had any problems with Impulse. Of course, I never had any issues with SDC either. The one weird thing that Impulse does is that it usually doesn't start the first time I run it.

Something needs to be done to fix the mines, especially the Vasari mines that can be used offensively. Nothing is more irritating than being attacked by a bunch of Ruiners that then proceed to, well, RUIN my system. It wouldn't be so bad if scouts actually continuously detected the mines so my fighter garrisons could clear them, but there is a clearly a bug that makes the mines pop in and out of detection, making the fighters move in a herky-jerky and very slow path towards them.&

First people complain that certain units are useless, they get fixed, THEN they complain that the same units are now too powerful. The carriers are better now, so wouldn't it follow that you should counter with flak units (which are now truly necessary since fighters/bombers are better) and with carriers of your own, with direct fire as your backup. This is how it works in current naval reality, so I see nothing wrong with the new balance in Sins. It's certainly better than
Wow Innociv that's interesting point. I wonder if that's why they changed antiverylight damage to do less vs light, in order to buff bombers. Which makes it stupid as hell because now you cant use fighters vs lrms and you cant use flak as well as before, so to counter lrms I have to tech to HC? WTF? It makes very little sense. And now u will probably have a better chance of using bombers vs flak. Any scenario where bombers counter flak is a retarded one! Why would you make bombers ef

innociv, piece of advice, for free even. Stop acting like you are the God of Sins. Stop coming down from your Ivory Tower on the High Mountain and proclaiming Your Word As Law. It's seriously annoying. Maybe you don't act this way in real life, but you should know that real people do not react well to arrogant, condescending, self-righteous individuals. They just don't. You may be right, you really might be. But your presentation is severely lacking. Moreover, are you

Ummm...Sins is not a hardcore strategy game. You will not find Combat Mission style game mechanics here. Believe it or not, many people do not like Combat Mission or games like it. There's a reason the "hex-based wargame" is effectively not a genre anymore. Personally, I tried hard to be a "grognard" and like those games, but I just couldn't do it. I'm sure someone has a good computer version of Squad Leader 2 or something, but Sins is not that game.

Yea, or don't play on fixed, small maps. But I guess they have their place--short games with random people online are probably the bulk of MP games. Still, it's a shame, because the RT4X quality of Sins does not really appear in fixed, small maps. Playing Sins that way is basically Starcraft with spaceships.

My opinion, for what it's worth. I mostly like the way cap ships are now, but I agree that they die a little too fast and don't kill quite fast enough. I think the best fix for this though is a slight change in damage types. The simple fact is that Capital type damage stinks. I think what it should do is 100% to Capital, keep the 25% to Very Light (indicating that it's hard for caps to bring their huge guns to bear on fast little fighters and bombers), but do much more damage to th

I would tend to agree with innociv, simply because he seems to know what he's talking about. Whether or not he's a so-called "evil high level player" is irrelevant to me in this situation--the one thing that nobody can argue with is that "high level play" will break a game and determine what needs to be changed much better than casual play. So, I say bravo, innociv. Keep it up!

I'm only on page 1 so far, but I have to say that I agree wholeheartedly with Uranium's post. Build-orders are an atrocity against real strategy. They are anything but actual strategy--static, automatic responses to start every game are silly and ruin games, they do not define "competitive play." Edit: Quick response. The fundamental difference in perspective between the "RTS/competitive play" crowd and the rest of us seems to be in defining our "fun." For me, I do not enjoy games
Heh... I think I can top most of these specs. I'm running it on a 1.4GHZ laptop with an ATI Radeon Mobile 9200 32MB card. Sure, all the video options are set to "lowest", but it runs fine most of the time
Are you serious? Do you think it would run on my 1.4 GHz Pentium M with 512 MB

If Draginol/Frogboy/Brad says this game looks good and has decided to publish, that's good enough for me, even if I have to wait to buy a new computer to play the darn thing.

This is so cool. I found Sins when it had no publisher and I thought it had some promising elements. The fact that my most favorite game company in the entire world is now the publisher is perhaps the coolest thing ever.
