Damn, honestly didn't realise there was another one on here as wouldn't have gone for it. I changed my last one as there was one of them too... sorry! Changed! Will begin the hunt for another one..... there we go

I don't know if any of this will be of help to you, I hope it is, so here goes! Some BIOS' on motherboards have issues addressing the full amount directly when POST occurs. This can sometimes be remedied in the BIOS settings by looking for either S/W memory hole mapping or H/W memory hole mapping - that is if you have the option. This help the PC see the full amount in the BIOS (in case yours isn't). Also a thing to bear in mind is that if you are using an Athlon 64 (or X2) th

Hi Kevin... that's a lot of favourites you got going on there! Have fun in the game buddy.

There are still nice people out there though. One skirmish last night had a dropped player in 2vs2 but everyone was in good spirits and there was good fun in chat between the two teams after us remaining 3 decided to play on. Even though the result was pretty much a foregone conclusion due to the Ai on one team it was still good fun and prob one of the nicest games I've played as it was played for fun, not the win... lots of "ooo, you nearly got me there" and "I'll get

Yeah there are some griefers in-game. Have had several games where just because the team didn't want to do what one person was (insanely) doing they freak out and call various people noobs. A few games ago there was a guy new to online Demigod playing sedna - he was really trying, being nice and making a big effort despite still finding the ropes. For his effort he takes a massive amount of grief from someone, just as he hasn't quite got the experience at playing that some would deem 'worthy'

CIV4+beyond the sword exp pack was good MoO3 was potentially the biggest let down... had amazing promise but played like a spreadsheet! Still, I read somewhere that someone has bought the franchise and is looking at doing a new one. Saying that, if MoO3 hadn't flopped I'd have never found Stardock as I was one of the MoO3-GalCiv rebound peeps! [e digicons]:D[/e]

Am using a 4650 in this after using a 9700GTX for quite a few years. It seems to run cooler/faster than my old Nvidia card and it defo uses less power. Am a happy bunny with it as I can now see where UB has left his little puddles now. Runs fine on my 500Watt PSU

Cheers for the update, always good to hear what is going on. I suppose the upside of all this hoohar is that once the dust settles and things are all working well for 99% of people that SD will have a nice rock solid platform to use for further network related games of their own. Good work guys, keep it up.

Am in NZ too and I picked up an ATi 4650 for around $140NZ, seems to run nice and cool, much quicker than my crusty old 7800GTX and is quieter too. Whilst it is not exactly going to set the gaming world on fire with it's performance it more than handles DemiGod, CoH and CoD4 with no issues. I can run Demigod with all the trimmings turned right up with this card so there are cards suitable for running modern games around for reasonable prices. If you are really worried about your fan y
Why not just let us choose our own proxy, or at least give us the option. Lets be honest... you know that an automatic proxy selector is going to get it wrong for some people, and you're just asking for trouble.
Yeah, I'd wondered this too. Even a drop down for country would be useful where it'd ping the relevant servers and choose the lowest number. Still, am looking forward massively to being ab
For next week, I am hoping we have the intelligent proxy handling in in which it will choose the proxy server closest to you. Once we do that, we’re going to seriously evaluate whether to just have it proxy by default
Me thinks that a) This will hopefully make 'Silk23' a happy bunny [e digicons][/e] b) Mean my mates can finally get a game without being booted for scary high pings

Count me in too as someone who is having frequent issues (being in NZ could be part of the issue). Saying that, I've been a customer of Stardock for a pretty long time and I have all the faith in the world that the guys at SD & GPG are working their butts off on getting things right. They have done so for everything else I've ever bought from them. The amount of flaming that's been going on seems to be pretty excessive (as a whole - not this thread) and I think people need to get a

This has been driving me mad all day. I have a 7800gtx, Athlon X2 4200 and 2gb ram with vista 32, and have just found what works for me (at the moment). Normally a few hours into a med map things will really crawl, especially when zooming in and out, things turn to a slideshow, but after trying all the effects options I seem to have found that turning off 'planet rings' gets things moving again. Hopefully this will get some of you unstuck, it is very frustrating to be able to run graphi

Yup, select the building and then in the centre bottom of the screen/hud click the long button that appears under the little in-game screen thing. Just be aware that getting rid of research stations stops some things working that rely on tech levels (Novolith etc)

I just played for a good few hours with no freezing after turning everything down to high (except the planet details as I like them at highest) and also had bloom turned off. I got pwned by the AI instead . :SNIFF!:

I'm sorry to say that I am already on highest Frogboy. I think my first freeze happened with no planets on screen at the time.
