Nevermind--I figured it out--In case anyone else had this problem all I did was replace the ver. code I got from SDC with my CD serial # and now it works. Really nice too--no DL and unzip--it does it all at once--nice. Now anybody know if I can play my saved games with the new patch. also--what exactly did I just DL?Is there a list of changes for 1.02?
I tried that--nothing happens. That is if you mean do it over and pick GalCiv in the dropdown. nada--nothing
Man--I messed up--I DLed SDC and installed it --problem is I followed their instructions and clicked the Drengin.net tab.Thing is in the instructions it said nothing about hitting the pulldown and selecting CalCiv.It just said hit Drengin.net tab,Fill in information and hit submit.Which I did. After it didnt work I checked the forum and lo an behold is a sticky thread that informs me of my error. So my question is this--how do I delete my old account and start a new one?It WILL recognize
oh--and ALL the AI civs LOVE the trade techs --you almost always get a good deal when trading them(they will pay out the Ass for a new trade route)
Agreed John Keats--"we will soon have that tech so we are not interested in trading for it" or "we see your strength growing by the day and it will cost you more than that if you think we are going to help you get stronger" or simply "we dont like you so its gonna cost you" That would help some.I dont get upset when the AI wont trade fairly(happens ALOT more in the tougher diff.settings)I just figure there is something going on in the background that I dont know about. btw--I never
I think what CnP is asking is if one planet in a system with 2 colonies with a def. of 100 builds PDs defence jumps to 133 then what does the second PD do?does it double (66%=166)or does it add 33% to the 133(33% of 133 is 44===177). Or does the bonus only apply once per Star system? My math may be off but you get the general idea--Im curious as well.
Foomed --means to be F*****g doomed ;p
Lets not make things more complex--you know like figuring out how many SBs we can build yet and where to put them. My opinion is the same as Horatio--Teach the AI how to use and combat them.Getting them to utilize them like we do should be fairly easy to code. And when an enemy civ attacks you and the AI notices all the att.and defence bonuses or simply notices that their ships are now slower in your sector--this should throw up a red flag to the AI that there is a SB in the sector that
Man--I just started a new game and I thought I got a great starting spot--then it all got sour. I started on a 22 planet- I found a 28 planet(the biggest ive found yet without enhancements) in the next sector. in my sphere of influence I found an influence resource,a moral resource,an economic resource, and 2 technology ones.I thought Man this is great!! I put starbases on all the resources While I continued to scout. Well all the stars around me were quite lousy and as I cont
Arcanum--Your smiling about my bad luck??May a rabid Drengin mount your sister!!! :D j\k Seriousely tho -I thought about the luck attribute but i have trouble using an attribute point on something so invisible as that. My latest configuration is war party with +10% planet quality and +30% morale. Im thinking of dropping the morale thing tho since it just makes my planets grow faster negeting the bonus. anyway thanks for the tips :)
BTW-Nirvana--is that +N or shift-N or control-N? Never seen the plus sign used like that in a game
O.K.--guess Im just unlucky then With my experiance with civ 3 i guess im just a bit jaded. Nirvana(great band)--thanks for the tip--that will save me some time :)
Ive seen that event Happened to the altearans but at that point in the game they were bottled up in a corner with like 3 planets. I had good intell so I kept checking their stats thinking they would jump through the roof. The stats didnt change and it left me wondering what exactly that event did for them.I quit that game soon after as it was appearant that I was unstoppable.(my first game on sub-normal)
Hi all First I want to say I think this game is really cool however it does the same thing as Civ3 and SMAC and countless other 4x titles. It gives the comp players the best starting positions. Or more to the point it sticks you with crap. This is something that really bugged me in civ3. One time I ran an experiment and created a super starting position in Civ3 editor.put lots of resources and other goodies around that spot. I then saved the map and started a game wi
