I've played 2 games with 1.3 as the Iconians in a large galaxy. In both these games, I consistently choose the "Neutral" ethical choices on the planet screens but the slider in my Civ Management section never moves from the default "Good" setting. I didn't play with the Iconians prior to 1.3 so I don't know if this is a new bug, but with other races choosing other ethical choices moved the slider.

I don't know if it's too late to submit a feature request for 1.2, but what I'd like is a "starbase" tab on the Civilization Manager set of windows, set up much like the "Colonies" tab with the starbases listed, their current effects and stats, and even (if possible) constructors en route. Currently, there's no good way (that I've found) to get a list of the features of each starbase. I just finished a 1.1 game on a Large galaxy, and I had 25 starbases. It was hard to keep track of h

This is directly opposite what I just saw in my game - an influence victory on Normal. Influence starbases would generate a "circle of influence" which corresponded to a military/economic starbase's area of effect. I would build them next to enemy planets, add enough modules so that the 'circle' would turn my color, and then wait until the planets (hopefully) flipped.

I have a Disappearing Turn Button issue with a game that I've played from Beta-2 on. The turn button shows green, I click on it, my ships move, and then it seems to hang during opponent move. I've tried going back to the autosave, but that didn't seem to resolve the problem. I'm happy to send along the save game, or do whatever other debug steps are needed... I have a GeForce 5200 on an AMD XP64 system

I'm also getting the missing turn button. Saving and reloading makes things ok for a couple of turns (notwithstanding the load game bug talked about above). I just wanted to say that starting with 5k bc is a really great design decision - it's a great way to avoid those early game doldrums (or to have a nice war chest ready-made, although the present value of the cash decreases the longer you don't use it if you're not getting interest, but I digress). I know after all the effort the team put in to graphics and UI, this took approximately 10 seconds to do, but it's a huge improvement to other 4x

I think the music in the game is really good, second only to SMAC (which really was more atmospheric than anything), but I have to say that when I heard the singing on the title track I kind of laughed - reminded me of Bill Murray singing "Star Wars" That being said, I'd be interested to hear more of the artist's work.

I wonder: if Stardock just put a big button on the start screen that said "Multiplayer", and faked together a realistic-looking server and some random bot chat, what would be the overall improvement in review scores? Would they just find something else to complain about, or would they proclaim it the best game ever?

Just wanted to say that I play 98% of my gaming as single-player - even MP-centered games like AoM and Guild Wars. I like to stop and start the game, log in to play for 15 minutes then log out again, and not have to deal with chat-speak. I've tried hotseat, PBEM, and "simultaneous" TBS MP, and none of those experiences was satisfying. To Civ-normalize the experiences, none of them lasted past 1 AD. I'm glad that Stardock made th

For my ships, I don't always change the default names, but when I do I get righteous - Defender, Fortitude, Excelsior... maybe this time I'll use a different theme - these are all good ideas (although the ones that look like variable names I'll stay away from). In GalCiv 1 it was crucial to take the time to name Starbases - impossible to tell which one was Starbase 1102...
