agreed on both points. As much as I love distortion field, I honestly dont see how TEC can compete once you get fully upgraded subverters. Its just too powerful.

I think I have this figured. For one let me start of by saying that my XP install is always up to date. Now, I would get the occasional minidump back in 1.03 but they were very rare. Then I updated to 1.04 and quickly started a game with my buds. No problems. However, the patch had turned off some of my graphic affects settings, specifically the "BLOOM" affect. So before the next game I turned it on. We tried five or six times to get a game going but every time after about 10 mi

exact same symptoms here. SUPER annoying
Asteroids have 2-3.ICe/Volcano 2-4.I had an asteroid with 4 and a gas cloud with 4 spawn last night. 4 on a non-planet world seemed excessive.
think of it as a planet that blew up. Planets still have the monetary/logistical/ and tactical advantage over asteriods
The akkan doesnt increase dps. The %hit increase is mainly useful for fighters, bombers, and flak. It also gives you a range increase that basically just helps you get the first shot in and again increases the affectiveness of fighters, bombers, and flak. Pairing an Akkan with a fleet of mainly light frigates will give you no real advantage. LRM spam will murder you.
but the problem is that caps still won't be able to fight if the enemy has more than 30 LRMS.What would be so bad about lower AntiMedium damage Vs. CAPITAL to 50%(from 75%) and lower their damage to buildings 25%? :/ That's what they need the most.
Agreed. Ive stated that very thing before. Never understood why they do 75% to caps. Only bombers, heavies, and other caps should do 75% or more to capital armor IMO.
Best is the Kol. Worst has got to be the dunov. I know its supposed to be a converted freighter but holy space bus batman!!
more ships >>>> small upgrades. Thought this was self-explanatory With the upkeep system of sins, the only time you should be purchasing ship upgrades is when your popped out and dont want to make the jump to next logistics level just yet. Note, however, that some ability unlocks (like distortion field, discharging missles) are different and should be grabbed asap. Although, there arent too many valuable ability unlocks in sins (unlike games like starcraft, c&c3).
It's already in the works. Just might not get here till 1.1. Brad asked us to submit how we want teaming handled a few weeks back when we were playing with him.
Glad to hear it. As others have stated it is super annoying. Makes multisystem team games pointless.
I loved the game more for what it could be than what it was. They obviously had a big vision for the game but as with a lot of low budget rushed development, it never happened.

best counter is ALT-F4. Give it a shot
Man I hate colonizing frigates. Jumping a colony frigate once pretty much drains its antimatter. If Im going to build a non-colonizing cap then the first frigate I build is a colony. Thats before scouts. This is to give his pathetic antimatter restore a chance to build up some sort of reserve. I absolutley hate the littly %$@#^ due to that and the fact that they die so easily. Makes me want a poster of the space whale in my office. I loves me some space whale! On another note, wh
what about simply making it a range skill like drain planet or colonize? Basically make it so the sova has to get relatively close and be looking at the planet to fire off embargo? That might actually nerf it too much. Making it have to look at the planet should be enough.
i had it listed on a planet info screen once but I never saw anything else about it. Also, it still says that I lack the achievement. Oh well.
the vasari space whale more than holds its own in 1v1 cap ship encounters. Nano-disassembler rules.
I stayed at a holiday inn express last night
VS the AI 1) play vasari 2) build a small number of repair bays, turrets, and hangers 3) build 1 phase stabilizer, 1 phase jump inhibitor, and 1 nano jammer at each choke planet 4) build subverters with distortion field 5) the trap is baited and set, pray the enemy sends his whole fleet 6) once he jumps in, send your fleet over. 1/3 the size of his fleet will do the job if it has 10 subverters. 7) The slaughter begins. Disable everything and dont let a single
Ive had level 10 sovas before. They only had 6 fighter squads. Dont know where your getting 7 from.
Honestly, I think this is a step in a good direction. I'm sure the original design of the game was for flaks to be used to just take out strikecraft and not as tanks to go up against LRMs. I'm quite certain that IronClad/Stardock are trying to move the units in the direction that they originally envisioned their usage. They want people to build carriers/scouts to kill LRMsThey want people to build flak to kill strikecraftThey want people to build light frigates to kill carriersThey want pe
I think advent have the weakest early game and the strongest late game. The overlapping auras of their cap ships and supporting fleet make them near impossible to kill. Your right in that advent cant afford to lose their cap ships. They are the true power of their fleet. I found out the hard way that bombers arent much of an option against an advent fleet with high level caps. The bombers litteraly end up killing themselves. TEC are truly the zerg race to me. They have the stronge
Subverters are simply god like in their ability to sway a battle. Teleport plus AOE disable = win. Ive also found that the Kodiaks "intercept" ability can play heavily into the hands of a subverter laden fleet. This is because when they use "intercept" they all tend to bunch up in one small area next to the target (kodiaks dont take up as much real estate as other HC's either). As such the the AOE is HIGHLY effective against them. Ive had the AI disable like 30 of my Kodiaks with 3
Sounds Perfect! Would allows us to still see the range of the effect by without the nasty side affects of not being able to see......anything else. :)
This is one of my wish list items. Please please please change the gaurdians shield bubble so that it doesnt end up looking like a giant blob of white on my screen. When several gaurdians fire this off not only can I NOT see (at all) any of the units in the cloud but it lags out my machine. I absolutely love this game but have very little desire to play advent because I would like to be able to see my own units. So can we please change it so that the graphic doesnt sta
