Hi GalCivII Devs! I love your game, and I have bought, or pre-ordered all parts of GalCivII. And I would do it again! Here is my idea: explain the industry and research values on mouseover! You have done that for influence and morale already. Why not go all the way and do the same for research and (the) production(s)? It seems to me that should be simple to do, and it goes a long way towards making things more transparent, i.e. easier to manage. <br/

IHMO, a "spectate" option would be great for this game! Spectating can greatly enhance the multiplayer aspect, and is (going to be) part of RTS games like the new C&C and starcraft2. So why not Sins? Think up some clever connection scheme, like making the ICO server host for spectators, and delay spectating by 5 mins to prevent cheating. I am sure there are a lot of possibilities to make this happen. my 2 cents, AntiBody

every time inhibitors come up somewhere plenty of people always post about the joys of the old ones maybe because they were good the way they were! If there still are plenty of supporters left, that should give everybody some thought. I am not even saying we "must" return to the old way, all i am saying is that the current pji's are not worth building. but then, i am against that whole safe-jump-into-hostile-systems mechanic, with the limited tu

The current ones are useful enough i have never again built one after they were changed. what a waste of supply points! I just build another hangar or some turrets or a repair center. at the very least, the supply point cost of the current pji should be reduced to 1. It's ironic how most people are so anti-turtling but want the old inhibitors back. I never said I was anti-turtling. in fact, i am a conf

If not inhibitor, what about delayer? Right now, anything would be more useful than the current "phase jump inhibitors". I have suggested before that an alternative (actually useful) phase inhibitor might slow down phase lane traffic. this could be cumulative (e.g. -25% speed/ inhibitor) and would give you more time to rally a defensive fleet. Or, they could just give us the old inhibitors back.

I like both ideas! Though much better than before, allegiance is still broken IMHO. The current system was devised with regional capitols in mind, which were taken out of the game. While decreasing loyalty with distance appears logical at first glance, i don't think it really is to the degree currently implemented. I think the minimal allegiance by distance should be closer to 50%, not 10%. Other factors are just as important as distance, like culture (which we have, but does too little), and pe

I find the announcements during the game more annoying than helpful. I always look up when my tech officer says "enemy forces inbound" and find out its just a scout. 100% agreed! normaly have to leave a scout at the star so I can see which way they are going. a quick look at the bounty screen will tell you that faster. they always go for the head with the highest price on it.

It was in and removed. It's too easy to set a rally point by mistake when rotating the camera or other common right-click functions. This led to nonstop complaints about ships AI not behaving correctly. could this perhaps be user configurable? and/or have a little check for how long the button is pressed to decide if its a rallypoint click or a camera rotation?

Another simple UI improvement suggestion/request: a right click on the map sets a rally point when a planet or its shipyard is selected. is this planned for beta 4 or can we get this please?

29 Replies 9,156 Views

Well, you can build from one planet/asteroid after the other without leaving the build screen, just click on a planet, open the build screen, then click on your next planet, queue up what you want, click on the next planet, lather, rinse repeat. If you have zoom problems, double-click on the target planet and it will center it on your screen so you can place structures where you want. Does the same thing for each panet submenu, it stays on the submenu when you cli

You can select your planet, go to logistics building, and build that way. With autoplacement of mining structures selected, you never have to worry about selecting asteroids. true, yet not my point. I would like the option of giving a build order to three asteroids with two clicks without navigating menus. this should be extremely easy to implement and would help me (and others I presume) a lot.

Hi all, altogether good points made. I also want to restate my UI suggestions once more: -selecting a factory and then right-clicking in space should set a rally point. Please!!! -selecting several resource asteroids at once and clicking the "build mine" icon should start mines in ALL ASTEROIDS SELECTED. currently, it will just start building in the first selected asteroid. this is annoying, and a waste of time! -I absolutely would like to see a "sell/buy" bar for

if i am not mistaken, gravity is "faster" than light. if string ("M") theory turns out to be correct, it is also the only force that can be used to probe other dimensions. while i don't anticipate intelligent life to be communicating with gravitational waves, much less so in a "hard science" setting, it would allow to circumvent the speed of light. that being said, i think communication in the EM spectrum would be the first choice for a fleet or perhaps within a solar system.

SD has been pretty good about that kind of stuff, excellent track record, I agree. But you can already see the "massive" fleets being axed, e.g. with a cap on capships, which IMHO is BAD. Point being, our feedback on developments and features is why we are here! a GOOD sign that they are thinking about Expansions. To me it means they KNOW they have something GOOD unfortunately, many a bad movie has a seq

actually they are saving half the crap for release okay, perhaps i should read the forums more. i was just a little disappointed because i felt there just wasn't that much in the game to justify denying adding in one more feature. Of course I realize that these things are MUCH easier said than done, and I am all for a polished and balanced product. We haven't seen the other races yet, but excuse my hopefully unfounded suspicions, they usually are little

Expansions...expansions. dunno... I just hear developer greed talking. half a year left until release and they can't add another building? Is this still our beloved Stardock, the same company that releases GalCivII 2.0? Of course it will be nice to have the game kept alive and expanded, but shouldn't you work on the actual game first and think about expansions later? No, I don't like this answer.

The day has come my friends: a day we’ve long awaited. A real release date! Spore will be released on March 3, 2008 actually, you've got a typo in there. It should read: March 3, 200 9 !

Just so. The design goal for the phase space inhibitor has always been to slow down the progress of enemies into your territory - not necessarily to trap them in a system to wipe them out. If that was indeed the goal, why not just make the pji slow down the peed of travel of enemies in all adjacent phase lanes? it could even be cumulative: 1pji, 1/2 speed. 2pji's, 1/4 speed et etc. there's a slowdown for you.
