Until then, I'll forego the upload. It's too much of a hassle and I don't feel anyone at Stardock has enough incentive to fix it
Well, before fixing something, you need to know why it doesn't work. What is more problematic is the fact that you seem the only one that is experiencing this problem. Maybe there is something on your side that prevent score upload. Are you behind a firewall? Are you uploading allways your games from the same computer? Have you the tools to

I am not sure, but the glitch could have been patched. BTW, have you looked in the strategy forum?
If there is no money left in the budget for QA (Quality Assurance) why is Stardock doing Galactic Civ II and that has to go through Ubisoft-right?and they can't even put out a new patch? Well , I think that Frogboy has responded in the previous post <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor
Okay, so what you're saying is that you'd prefer the ability to download the original version of a game, then each patch version independantly instead of automatically being brought to the latest version automatically? No. Just that there isn't any way to get a previous version if the latest is screwed. Ever
Reply #33 By: Yarlen - 2/25/2005 2:15:35 PM That is the standard way of getting patches with Stardock Central: only needed files are uploaded. But there is currently a minor issue for those who hav
If a game has been patched at the time we add it to the service, it'll be pre-patched when someone goes to purchase it with their tokens. Additionally, when new patches are released they'll show up on Stardock Central as new versions (like Stardock's other products), and you'll only need to download the files you need </
The number crunching itself should not be an issue as far it scales linear or with logarith of the number.
Well, it must be at least linear since I don't see how you can avoid to look at each game in your proposal
A proposal could be: Sort the games decreasing by sccore for each calculation period. At the point were a games starts to lower the score stop calculating and move over to the next period.
The sort can be logarithm, but the calculation to see i
But there is still the problem that you are penalized for submitting low score games or that you once did submit a low score game. And altering the metaverse formula isn't the explored way to avoid duplicate account
But it is definitely not harder to explain than the current system. Why do you loose points when you submit a game?
Well, have you tried to expl
A proposal could be: Sort the games decreasing by sccore for each calculation period. This restriction is that in an empire, no duplicate Se
Advantage: You can't loose points by submitting a game any more.
But a newbie playing beginner won't help the empire by raising the points. So you can't tell them to come in your empire to fight against others empires. And it would be horrible to explain the empire calculation to newbie. Just look at what happen currently with player score. I don't think that lots of people can explain how it works, why their are some strange behavior or what will be a good submission
So a game like Galactic Civilizations II, which is expected to have an SRP of $49.95 would cost 5 tokens. At roughly $7 per token, that's $35 (instead of $50). If the ratio is kept, that means we can easily match the retail price with the number of token:<br
I currently have an endgamesave that I tried 3 times to submit tonight that has neither registered in points or in number of games submitted.
You may experience the same problem than Tech: having new game generating the same Id that already registred one. It could be nice (but it may need a change in the metaverse submission process) to know if the game is already registred.
Will there be a way to incrementally buy additional tokens aside from the $70 for 10 plan once you already have a subscription? well, in this thread http://totalgaming.stardock.com/forums.asp?MID=141&AID=65990, it is stated that you will be able to buy pack of 5 t

I think that Interest rates are linked with extra cost for rush building. [Message Edited]
will be able to patch them even after the subscription run out.
How will be the beta handled? Will the cost tokens, allowing to have full upgrade of the game even if the suscription runn out?
butat least now if you let your blocks age fully prior to submitting under that player (I believe its 4 * 30day blocks)
Well, the games won't age if they are 291 days older or more. Now, for people that don't paly during a month and came back after, they must know that there is a rollercoaster effect as long a the empty submission periode can hit a 30 days block. The rollercoaster effect is greatly reduced when the empty month enter a 70 days block.. There are 5 30 d
you should have a mechanism to retire a player and start from scratch
Well, you can register a new player (under the same galciv account) and use it.
Have you seen this? http://totalgaming.stardock.com/forums.asp?MID=141&AID=65990

The serial will be checked to see if it is a valid serial Id. So I fear that you won't be able to do what you are suggesting. I suppose that you won't use Stardock Central is due to the fact Galciv is on a computer that isn't connected to Internet with high speed.
BTW, you don't really need to change the registred metaverse player: I think you can specify which is the registred player for uploading the game. And I think it can be different from your leader name in the game. And there isn't any automatic way to have a merge of different players associated with the same e-mail: you need to ask Stardock to do the merge and tell them what registred player should be kept.
