BigDog and other thank you so much for getting me to the right place. In the arguments this is the line I typed. /e,/root,::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D} This allowed me to see the my computer as I do when I click on the desktop short cut. Thank you all again.

Hello all, I have looked through the archives of the message boards looking for the others that have had the same problem. I want to create a short cut to my computer where it lists my drives. I know that it is through explorer.exe and that there is some additional scripting or something that needs to happen but I am not sure. Could someone point me to a tutorial or a link that can explain it to me. I am apparently a little thick since there are only 2 or 3 other threads from 2006 that I can

Update: I have since made the process much easier by taking my icons into photoshop and combining them there. Now instead of 4 separate icons I have two and it works and looks much better. Thanks again for the help and direction.

Well in all of the online instructions I have found thus far, the text just states the change in width will achieve the desired results. I didn't assume the image would stretch since the 'experts' giving the instructions didn't say or show stretched images they showed perfectly adjusted images. I didn't find any clearer instructions on the message board either. Please forgive my ignorance, perhaps I should do a tutorial for this message board so someone else doesn't take the text literally as

It is not any particular image, it is any jpg that I use. When I change the settings of the image from 1280X1024 to 2560X1024 the image is stretched. Are there certain images I have to use or is the information I am finding that states you can take any image and create a dual monitor wallpaper by just changing the 1280 portion of the background?

I have been looking through the archives and trying to find a tutorial on how to create my own dual monitor wallpapers. I get the concept of doubling the width but when I do that it becomes a stretched picture instead of a picture that covers both monitors. I have also googled the procedure and I am still having no luck eliminating the stretched pic. Can anyone offer a little more help other than the 2003 - 2004 archives? Thanks. gr8dane

Im getting closer I followed Wiki's instructions and set the parent child and I also used SirSmiley's instructions on both the Mouse over and Mouse away. So now they are moving sync, however, the second object size on the mouse is off set from the first (child) object. I think what I need to do is edit my parent object so that it is in ratio to the child object and they mouse over in proportion. Does that make sense?

It works to a certain point, they both mouse over but the bottom object doesn't go back to mouse away position. They aren't functioning as one object, they both mouse over fine but there seems to be a delay in the response time coming forward and moving back again.

SirSmiley, Thank you for the reply, I am as green as they come about DesktopX and scripting. You could hold my knowledge of scripting in a tea cup. I get the concept and understand the script after it's written but to write it myself is a bit of work. So then it is only possible to group two separate object both with mouse over states using vbscript? Is there a tutorial here that I can read and walk though? I have looked at the tutorials that are listed so far and t

I have a question about grouping. I have created multiple items and I want to combine them. My issue is that I have created each item to use a mouse over and increase in size. I want to place the second object overtop of the first object and make it semi-transparent. So that the first object appears to be inside of the second When I mouse over the grouped items I want both to enlarge or come forward as one group. Is this possible? Thanks for the help.

After playing with it the floating dock I am wanting to create allows me to place it anywhere on the desktop. With the current settings that doesn't appear to be possible it is either vertical or horizontal somewhere and I want to basically create a circle around and object in the middle of my screen. I can create an object and place it where I want but I have having grouping issues with multiple objects that have a zoom feature. I dont know if that makes any sense but if anyone has s

Hey all, I am new to the boards and I was curious if there is a way to create a doc but have it float so that it could be in the middle of the screen?
