I tried several Nvidia versions back and none of them affected this. Sometime in the last few days I can no longer use Windowblinds 8 without it turning the explorer background black leaving everything unreadable :(
This is happening on Windows 7 Ultimate x64 as well. even if you don't set the color or change but if the skin does the explorer background is all black, almost all the skins that are non aero based do this. It started recently so maybe a video driver issue. If I can't figure anything out I will try go back to an older version and let you know.
Not the boot drive but not external either. My boot or system drive is an ICZ Vertex4 SSD and my programs drive, where I install all my software and keep my user files and folders, is 2 WD Velociraptors in Raid 0. Do you think this can be the reason? I will have time during the week I can uninstall all my Object Desktop stuff and re-install on the main system drive SSD. It maybe worth a try. I have a Windows Experience Index of 7.8 but I am not sure what this has to do with it. When I have a WB theme loaded it appears to load correctly then when it seems to be DeskScapes turn to load it doesn't and the DWM quits. I have this happen to me too if I have other products installed like FX and Deskcapes8. Somehow there is a conflict and it's not that the programs do not start they disable the windows manger or DWM and 3D and some graphics stuff won't run. In order to use WB8, FX5 and DeskScapes8 at the same time it will crash the windows manager (DWM) or whatever it's called. Ok, so after messing with this for a while and many reboots and such. I fire up Impulse and and in the Updates tab, instead of cancelling the download or retrying the uninstall, I figured I had to get the uninstall done first. I done what you said and there was an update for Impulse when I restarted and I let it update. It doesn't take but a few moments to load or refresh data. It still gives me the same exact result. The error messege stayed exactly the same.

I tried to update DeskScapes to DeskScapes 3. In Impulse it says DeskScapes 3 and under it it says previous version installed. So when I try to install it it prompts to remove the old version and then errors with a messege that says "There is an error in XML Document (0,0)" There is no verify, there is a Retry, Run, More Info, Uninstall, Vieew history, rating... The previous version of DeskScapes will still run if I click on RUN but I can NOT uninstall the previous version so

I have looked and updated impules , have also tried checking use Beta Impulse but if Skin Studio Exists in any form on Impulse it is NOT showing up. I have looked through forums and have not found anything usefull about it, there is a good chance I missed it if there is something posted. Is there a beta or final of Skin Studio 7 yet? Thanks

I disagree, $30 is way too much after I already paid alot of money for severel renewels for the Object Desktop suite. This is all as it should be. Windowblinds is an in depth Theme manager with it's own type of themes. If you apply a theme through windowblinds then YES aero is no longer in effect, you now have a Windowblinds theme applied. If you go into personalize and change it back to aero then you are causeing a conflict with windowblinds. If you want aero then like above posts state start the Windowblincs interface and scroll the list of themes all the way to the left and choose windows aero and

This is new, It's definately related to IconPackager4. Some icons are ok, alot are fubar with default icon. If you right click a shortcut or file and choose to change the icon, choose one from the file or any one and click apply and ok, Guess What? the icon stays default and does NOT change. I did uninstall the version from Impulse and from the Stardock website followed the link to download.com and downloaded version 1.0.0 and this worked just fine, I will keep this for now and keep my eye out for any more updates. Thanks again
Ok it's still not working but this is what I did. I removed everything in C:\ProgramData\Stardock\LogonStudio Vista\Logons and the program still stops working during it's starting. I invoked the program by double clicking a logonvista file, severel different ones. What did happen though is it did copy and convert the file into the proper place in C:\ProgramData\Stardock\LogonStudio Vista\Logons . This tells me that part of the program is working. Thanks but none of this worked, I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, all with no protection running. Tried starting it by using a logon file instead of the program shortcut itself. It's allways the same, the program has stopped working with the same information I posted above.
