A last question if any1 can help, how can i get 60000 points from a game
Many stratiges here, but AFAIK, nobody has managed it with a game smaller than large. Several have managed in the 50k+ range with medium. Also, upgrading to AP helps a lot. I don't know if a large maso 60k is possible without AP. Beyond that: 1) AI level matters very much. 2) Military victory scores higher than other types 3) Get as many techs as you can 4) Get as many
The mods with extra alignment picks will be nice, but it does lead to a question of whether one is playing for getting a certain result quickly (both in score and alignment in this case).
But what if I enjoy being very evil? :)
If someone CTRL+N because they don't like their starting position and they would have more fun with a better starting position then fine. If someone CTRL+N to optomise starting positions purely so that they can win quicker or get a higher score and thus a higher ranking in the Metaverse, then that is cheese.
I guess it's some of both. I only have so much time to devote to playing games. I don't usually want to play out a loosing position just to see how far I get. So w
But you got the spirit GH. Most of everything else so far is strategy, your using some good old stinky cheese. I'm proud of you.
Thanks... I think... :notsure: :D
Here is an idea, everyone post what the cheesiest thing they do is. Might give us some great ideas or get the person Renigaded
OK, here is the game that I play. Everything I can think of that might be "cheezy": -Start with all AI Pure Evil -All AI set to Incredable except the Altarians at Genius -Ctrl N and Ctrl U starts -Reload from last save if I've done something (or forgotten something) that really messes up the game. -Reload from save to rus
Buying freighters and combat transports from the AI.I consider this cheese because it doesn't really make sense that you could sell someone's own trade products back to them at a profit, or that you could invade someone's planet with his own soldiers.
I view this one as financing a coup or a civil war, or bribing someone in power to turn over the resources. That might make an interesting option to put into GalCiv 2...
Cheese is exploiting a bug or feature in a game to gain an advantage.
Ah, but that is where the next part of the question comes in. I have seen people claim that just about any way that you play the game (presumably except the way that they play) is cheese. Is CTRL-N cheese? How about 99 turn bribes? And if they are cheese, are they OK to use, or will there come a day when it is decided that those who used this cheese will be punished? I think we have been th

Over the last several days and weeks, there has been much discussion over cheating and cheese. This has been highlighted with the events of last week involving Loth and Renegade. From reading the posts in various threads, I think we are suffering from some miscomunication on a couple of basic points. Namely, we don't entirely agree on what is cheating, what is cheese, and what is "legitimate" strategy. I start this thread in hopes that we can discuss these issues here in a non-heated manner

I think that question was what if Al Qaeda sets off a nuke in an American City, how would you respond. The middle choice was something along the lines of "I can't really say what, but I would certainly respond to it" No wonder they turned on me! That missing text bug can really bite you!<img src="../im

Well, I tried one more. I managed to get to about week 24 before CDT. Had something odd happen before that. My first interview came about week 20, on joeuser.com. They asked me a question with no text in the question, but it had 3 answers: America should re-evaluate their policy, America should do something else that I can't remember, but didn't sound that good, and America should turn the middle east into glass. Well, I foolishly chose the first
