no, either you win or your entire army is trashed. giving someone the control over your entire army is a stupid idea, split the army up with captains and then control the captains, that is how to wage a war, not sitting off in the sidelines where no one can see you, plotting to build a huge gun capable of killing everyone but not actually doing anything else, the emperor is a wimp, a phony, and should barely be able to be called a sith lord. the other members of the sith were capable with tricks and with fighting. palpatine is a weak excuse for a sith lord, even if he does look like a deragned lunatic, just like the rest of em'.(thats cuz he is one) palpatine is not a sith lord, he is a diplomat nothing else!!! but on a lighter note, i just saved 400 dollars on my car insurance by switching to geiko

OK, one last post before i go, Palpatine IS NOT a DIPLOMAT, he used his meek power with the force to influence the actual diplomats into seeing his way.

palpatine was the most powerfull sith lord EVER...hands down
He was complete in everything he did...
he made thousands of jedi knights oblivious to his very being...
in his battle with mace windu he let windu think he had the edge...let himself lose...it was vital to turn anikan...and show the republic that the jedi were evil
only anikin had the power to kill him...
and palpitins spirit survived and traveled all the way to byss and occupy another body.
then on the eclipse, he unleashed so much power that he destroyed the entire ship, its crew, himself, and nearly luke and leia as well...then his spirit still survived and he occupied yet another clone...
you palpatine haters...name one other sith that you think could stand up one on one with palpatine...

Remember palpatine also sat atop a minimum of 1000 years of sith machinations, plots and collected research (not to mention anything that could be salvaged from before Bane's time) Most of the other sith lords were were actively trying not to be wiped out by other sith (remember even Revan was taken out by malaks treachery and then mindF***'d by the jedi and actually played nice for a few years without even knowing it, some big bad ass sith that can't keep is own name straight...) there is nothing specifically that shows palpatine being more 'powerful' than the ancient sith lords, but simply being a beneficiary of enough stability and time to master the techniques of 10,000 years of sith knowledge.

Star Forge anyone? Plus Revan killed a bunch of Mandalorians, nearly to the brink of extinction, and then conquered a good chunk of the Republic, turning lots of Jedi along the way. If the Jedi hadn't launched a last-ditch suicide run on his flagship he would have conquered the entire Republic. And after he then saves the Republic, he does what he planned to do with the conquered Republic and confront the True Sith somewhere out in the Unknown Regions, except he does it all by himself, leaving Carth, Bastila, HK-47, and B4-D4 behind.

Palpatine did conquer the whole republic
And created the Galactic Empire
Palpatine was a sith lord in control right under the noses of a thousand jedi
I doubt revan had the kind of power for that kind of concealment for that long
