My Homeworld Mod

This is my first attempt at a conversion and I am still learning. I have the Kushan(TEC) and Taiidan(Vasari) playable. I have played the Kushan on a huge FFA map to the end. I didn't add the motherships because I can't decide what role they would play other than a huge carrier. I made the Homeworld corvettes as frigates, HW frigates as cruisers, and well, Cap ships are Cap ships. I made the cloak generator as a planetmodule. which will cloak your modules and ships in an area of effect, but not planets. The gravwell generator is mobile, blocking phase jumping in an area for a little longer time than the phase block module. to keep the enemy from fleeing. Added a few derlicts to fill out the ship slots and made a missile corvette for the Taiidan. I will add the Kadesh next in the Advent slot and eventually the Turanic Raiders as pirates (and make them playjable). Thanks to Sierra, Relic and anyone associated with this great game, Homeworld.

I looked and looked but couldn't find one without the torrent, but that is probably the easiest to get. I went ahead and put values in for the Kushan Mothership and the Tiidan Mothership as well in the String folder to remove the string not found error. You have probably already fixed it, but just wanted to let you know. Very very nice mod.  :)  You've done a good job, now just some touch up's, music   :)

               This is one piece of cake, you know that!!  It is darn near perfect. The little touches you put in, some i am just seeing for the first time, like the resource harvesters going to the asteroids where the extractors are and then going off planet, i am assuming back to the trade ports, but it is wonderful to see.  :)  I was trying to do this a few days ago, but came to the conclusion i couldnt do it. But of course i am only a newbie modder anyway, so perhaps there are lots of things that are very very possible if i had the understanding.  :)  But i just wanted to tell you, that is is so very very cool... you have done a professional job here. As good as a game developer would. It is really beautiful.  :)

Hello and thanks to everyone. I am still tweaking the entity files. I have fixed the Taiidan mothership, I forgot to put hangar points on it. I have a Kadesh race 99% done but I am getting a mini dump and an assert error in develeper.exe and can't find the problem yet. The models are from the Kadesh Void HW mod, Unified Higaran Fleet HW2 mod. I haven't got permission fron the Kadesh Void mod people to use their models yet. Sent out some e-mails to addresses I found but came back as undeliverable. If anyone can help with that please let me know. Thanks to Chris from the UHF mod for his permission.

SpartaSon you can use anything you want from the HW mod. I was going to incorporate it in 7 deadly sins for my personal use eventually any way.

Thanks to SpartrSon21 I got the HW music. Now to put it in the mod, but there is alot of music in Sins and it's hard to know what to put where. You have the game.musicdata file plus the individual player entity files. If any one can make sense of it please help.

Game.musicdata is just a basic list of what non-race-specific tracks are in the Sound folder.

 

It goes by moods so there are MUSIC_QUIET, MUSIC_TROUBLE, MUSIC_UPBEAT, MUSIC_BATTLE, and MUSIC_SAD tracks.  Each track has a different name such as Sad 1, Battle 5, Quiet 6, and you get the idea. 

 

From what I can tell from the player files, each race has specific battle musics as well as other race-specific musics.  This is where you would insert the specific music for each race.

 

The main menu music is known as Opening Theme.ogg.  This is hardcoded (I think), and I am glad it is.  You can make a different main menu music, it just has to be named Opening Theme.ogg.

 

All of these music files go in your mod's Sound folder.  No, you don't need the rest of the Sins music tracks in there too.  Only GameInfo is like that.

 

P.S. Its SpardaSon21.  Please get it right next time.  I really hate it when people mess that up.

Does annyone know what a mini dump is? i try to enaple this mod but i keep getting it. It makes the Sins game turn off. Did i do annything wrong or is it that i can only have one mod per game. Because i also have a starwars mod.

and answer to question above I don't realy know what a mindump is but I have notice after you get thour one or two three max that you won't get any more for awhile or untill you reload a game

and you did disable the starwars mod?

Im sure the creators of Homeworld wouldnt mind us bringing their game to a new generation but is it realy legal? Oh and if i can figure out how to upload maps I made a Homeworld one if you want to use it.

Dude Wraith! I just had a cool idea. Instead of having the phase jump as hyperspace, how about you use the homeworld style one. Ya it would probably work. You know how a phase jump has to charge up. Well instead of that The hyperspace gate can be opening. and when in "Phase Travel" it will be normal.

:)  Hope you have a chance to update this to the new 1.12 or you may want to wait til entrenchment is out to update it, it is very cool, but havent had a chance to play it since i upgraded. Due to the fact that when I play this mod after about a couple hours I am getting a mini dump, I have not made any more progress. It is really frustrating to put all this work in to a mod and up pops a mini dump and you have no idea why. I wish it wasn't so cryptic. So until I can find the cause I am at a stand still.

I juat cant wait to play this mod!

Are the minidumps because I have V1.12? I cant even enable the mod when i click the button i get a mini dump. Is it that i need a program or somthing? My starwars one works. And yes i disabled the starwars mod before using the HW one.
