Have only had the game for around 2 weeks and this is a GREAT game. Never the sama game twice!

I have played all 3 races and the only problem I have with any of them is with the Vasari.

I love the race, but there is 1 sentance that makes me cringe to play them....

 "Our ships have exited phaaaaaaaaaaase space"

Is there a way to delete this ONE sound file? It drives me bonkers

Someone help me before I go insane???? }:)

I am pleased with most of the voices myself, with the exception of the TEC Cobalt frigate.

imo they should be a little more serious at times the voice acting makes the game sound a bit childish

What I hate most is how so many ships have a response appropriate to a single soldier, like you'd find in Warcraft, not a ship with thousands of people aboard.

They're always referring to themselves as "I", or "me". I know you're talking to an individual captain, but that's a flimsy excuse, because it's obvious that the lines weren't written with that in mind.

Not to sound too harsh, but it's simply a failure of mindset on the part of the writer. They were thinking of what this single unit would say if you click on it, not what the captain of a multi-thousand-crewed vessel would say if contacted on a radio.

I totally agree, but it doesn't bother me to much. The only voices I like are the Vasari ones, but a few of theirs are annoying.

Is there a mod that replaces a lot of the voice acting with more Star Trek computer style sounds and alerts? That would be great. The voice acting is really annoying, and I agree, there are WAY to many inconsequential alerts. I only want the important ones.

Ah - have you spent time in the navy?  You'll find that that is **EXACTLY** how they work.  "You are directed to go here" and "I will go over there and smite the enemy"

Ok - that's a bit over the top, but it is all first person. The rest of the beings onboard the ship are there to help the captain get his job done.

Look at it this way - there's a chain of command.  The admiral tells the commodores what to do.  He tells his captains.  Any given captain tells his senior officers.. and so on down the line.  The Commodore doesn't give a flying sneeze in a hurricane about talking to the Cooks, Electronics Techs, or ... well, anybody besides the captain

Vasari have the best voices.

Advent is just silly, like a bunch of scared chearleaders lead by the hockey mom.

TEC is just boring and borderline retarded (you pick it we stick it).

just liek Rhedd_V said, i think the annoying problem is ships talking like it's "me" and "i" if it would've been "we" that's rly help in making stuff feel "more epic" just that small detail...

 

i dont bother vasari voices,  one of my friends hates it tough. everytime he comes by and hears it he's asking me who's gargling

also love TEC some of them rly makes me laugh sometimes  just the tone being used....     just make a Hoshiko jump to a nearby system.... totaly love that speech
