I think I may have finally one of the [many?] things that cause bugged recordings. It would seem that Colony frigates aren't recorded when they capture mineral / crystal resources in non-colonizeable areas [ie: gas giants, asteroid belt]. It would also seem their listed income rate is incorrect. It was easy to spot in a recorded game of mine since my early income was dependent almost entirely on these "free" resources, the recording of an "alternate timeline" begins approximately 20 minutes into the game. Anyhow, it became apparent that without that income of these asteroid stations, none of the buildings/ships/research that had been originally queued in the game could be done in the recording- everything unfolded completely differently without the income and the game finally ran itself into a paradox and minidumped at about 1:30 ... out of a 2:30 game. I hope this bug is on the docket to be fixed in your upcoming bug rally- hope this tidbit helps a bit.
