Sova used to be the best But nerf come around and usually target the best :/ So the Sova standard became eccentric. I had someoen try to sova rush me, without feed it fails, I killed his sova cause I got feed from my allies, and proceeded to kill him

The Sova has embargo, which steals a certain percent of income.  Some players would quickly attack their enemies HW using the Sova and steal their income.  Early game, this really cripples their income and you can build a lot more frigates.  Anyway, in v1.1, they nerfed teh Sova so that the income stolen wasn't as much and it only lasts 1 min instead of the previous 2.  Therefore, without receiving feed (recieving resources from your ally), this tactic doesnt really work anymore because the Sova Cap is not very sturdy, and you are left with a mediocre cap when the enemy strikes back.

I depends how one uses the Sova, I always prefer to upgrade the missile turret deployment and have a line of Sova's on hold position, thus when the enemy ships charge they are going through the full strikecraft compliment striaght into the missiles and lasers of the carriers.  A couple of the repair crusiers and other such support ships only serve to strengthen the position.  But the main thing with a carrier heavy force is to remember to be ready with the retreat button, your strike craft have a better range and if you can lead the enemy fleet on a multi system chase you have a good opertunity to weaken them, if they don't then you got a couple free kills before they chase you away.

Pound for pound, so to speak, the Sova is the weakest of the TEC caps. It doesn't start with that many strike craft, and in direct combat it's under gunned. An equal level Marza of Kol will smoke it. It can't colonize or buff other ships.. The list goes on. Most people choose a battle ship to clear worlds and as the center piece of thier future fleet, hoping to get it to level 6 ASAP for either Missile Barrage or Finest Hour. Others pick a colonizer, hoping to speed expansion and thier economy, and fund future fleets with the proceeds. A Sova doesn't do any of that, and as mentioned with Embargo getting nerf'd.. well, it kind of got shoved to the back of the pack.

Personally, if I need strike craft ( mid and late game ), I go for percherons. Cheaper, about the same since 3 new perch's cost about one Sova, except I get 6 squads immediately instaed of having to level the cap. I guess if the Sova started out with 6 squads, I might see it in a different light..   

But if you're a strike craft specialist, and it works with your tactics, who's to say if it's a poor choice ? Thats what I like about SINS, you don't have to follow a linear path. You can do it your own way.

Feed is when another player gives you money.  If you ever played in a team game and someone slaughtered you in what looked like him vs you situation, and I mean slaughtered you like you were a cornfield and he was driving a combine, then he probably got fed by his ally.

Wow...just wow.

  The Sova is absolutely my favorite Capitol, and always the one i pick first, though i admit i have played very few human vs human matches, by the time we even met eachother on the map, (I always play the biggest) we both had a good 3 or 4 capitols, so it didn't make that much of a difference.  I just see the Sova as being a fleet all by itself if you pick your squadrons right (4 Fighter, 3 Bomber)  And upgrade the missile turrets and heavy strikecraft, in that order, you should have no problem unless your outnumbered by enemy Capitols.

Yep, old Sova was pretty much only good for embargo rushing on small maps.  New Sova is pretty respectable.  Unless you are fighting flak early, the new Sova is pretty good.  It is trickier to use than the battleships because you have to know how to manage your fighters, but you can have pretty good results with it.

It wasn't even good at Embargo rushing before due to the ability being bugged after level 1. But yeah, the current Sova is fantastic. Missile Batteries and Heavy SC are now very powerful abilities, and the ship itself makes a great pair with the Akkan.
