Starbase
While fighting the Vasari AI (normal), I cam upon one of their planets with an upgraded starbase (had 16000 hp and all 3 weapon types). The starbase was moving to engage my fleet (also Vasari). While the starbase was moving, it was going under his own asteroids, weapon defenses, and research structures.
At this point, my fleet was point blank in front of this group of structures/asteroids. The starbase got about halfway underneath, then stopped. It was in range, and it appeared to be targeting one of my capital ships, and it was flashing red, indicating it was under attack. However, weapon effects were hit-or-miss at best. No major weapon effect were occurring from neither the starbase nor my fleet., at least nothing to the degree of what it should have. Somehow, damage was still being done to the starbase, with me ultimately destroying it. During this time, it did appear to be damaging my capital ship, but it didn't seem significant at all.
It appears this is mostly a graphics bug, and this is the only time I've seen it occur, so I don't feel this is significant enough to effect gameplay, but it may be worth making a note of it in case it occurs again. I believe the way to repeat this glitch is to move the starbase under closely grouped structures/asteroids.
MINE MINES!!
Mines work great, I haven't been able to check the mine clearing ability yet, but from the changes in the notes, I'm sure it will be much improved when I get around to having to clear mines.
Anyways, bullet marker time!!:
- Group mine count from groups of 10 to total number; makes it easer to figure out how close we are to caping the gravity well.
- This is not as much of an issue for the other races as it is for the Vasari, but when I upgrade to new types of mines, I may wish to swap out some other types to lower the mine cap to place some of the other type. Assuming we can still decommission the mines (the button seemed to be grayed out for mines, I'll have to double check), it would be nice to be able to select multiple mines and decommission them all at the same time. Selecting individual mines is just tedious.
Anyways, this is an fyi. Thanks again for the great game and the latest update on
