i jsut completed this game where i noticed an most unusual strategy concerning fighters,
namely, setting the fighters behaviour to, "hold position"
what happens is that the fighters wil move in a ball when ordered 2 move
shooting anything they encounter,
he especialy used this tactic 2 move his (20+-) fighter spam evading my flak frigates, and getting behind my LRF frigates, killling only 10 of them in under 10 seconds
when my flaks finaly turned around and get into range, he moves them to another position where he kills another 10 lrf's and continues his strategy,
imho this = not how fighters should behave,
the player however insisted that all "pro" players (trying 2 make a fact over that his team was pro, and our team had no chance becuase we were noobs) used this tactic and that is was a feature instead of a bug
if fighter efficient can go up by 1000% just by making them hold position (20 fighters take 10 seconds give or take 2 kil 1 lrf (turning around etc.etc.)
in the end i managed 2 beat his ..strategy..by building my own amassed fighters, and strategicly placing my gardas' and he just left after i ion bolted his marza performing a missle barrage...
imho though, i do not think fighters should have this behaviour,
they should however keep behaviour settings, for obvious reasons having fighters in local area mode = usefull, as is hold position (though i prefer docking myself)
altough when in hold position mode, the squadrons should be unable to fire
as an example, he was able to kil most of my 20 lrf's, 10 kodiaks, 10 hoshiko's 20 gardas (no flaks died) 1 akkan, 1 kol, 1 marza with just
1 marza level 6 (missle barrage failed due 2 ion bolting him), 15 hoshiko's and 15 carriers
he used 20 fighters and 10 bombers, and should have no way of defeating my fleet,
any thoughts on this?
