I like to play with only deep space skyboxes enabled, but every time I load a previously saved game the colored skyboxes appear, and there's no way to disable them. They only seem to stay disabled when I start a new game; if I save that game and load it later on the colored skyboxes appear again.

Is there a reason this happens? And is there a reason why I cannot change any of those effects from within a game? It's very annoying either being forced to play in colored space, or to play one continuous game without saving and reloading.
