Basically, this game is played so that the last person who post wins. What do they win? The ThreadKiller's Achievement; The honor of being the last person to post by virtue of the content of their post. However, moderators, admins, and anyone else who has the ability to lock the thread are disqualified from winning the ThreadKiller's Achievement, if they win by locking. If the thread is won by method of locking, the "winner" gains the Achievement Of Reprehensible Epic Lameness.

I personally don't have any problems with it, but I can see where your coming from. Personally, I like Steam because it let's me get together with a friend and play a game very easily; of course, I don't actually have an games on Impulse that I really want to play with other people. So it's a bit of a biased point, I suppose.

I know what you mean. I've played Sins online and we in the DS community set up a thread to work out the schedule. Works wonders.

I wouldn't mind playing Supreme Commander online, but prefer to play with those I know and so usually LAN it.

Yeah, I like playing with people I know better. I've certainly had a lot of fun playing Alien Swarm, but more so when I played a few games with morph.

Though I have to say, these 3 German dudes I just finished playing a few games with were pretty awesome. At right about the end of the last mission, when the nuke is set to go off, one of them says "Run bitches". Lulzy, innit.
