Last person to post wins, unless they are a moderator or admin.

Basically, this game is played so that the last person who post wins. What do they win? The ThreadKiller's Achievement; The honor of being the last person to post by virtue of the content of their post. However, moderators, admins, and anyone else who has the ability to lock the thread are disqualified from winning the ThreadKiller's Achievement, if they win by locking. If the thread is won by method of locking, the "winner" gains the Achievement Of Reprehensible Epic Lameness.

yes the insurgent artillery they are everwhere

it's like coalition forces patrol a road and then *bam* artillerystrikes everwhere, damn those taliban and their barrages

but on the other hand it is good that they have so much artillery, so they don't have to improvise with roadside bombs

Don't forget that although we don't use battleships anymore, one can fire a shell beyond the horizon, giving it a clear advantage over anything dependent on visual confirmation. And cruise missile ships are classified as modern artillery delivery system. It's just that the tech is so different.

drones + apache helicopters + jets >>>> artillery

end of story (unless your enemy has sophisticated air defence and the last war agianst such an enemy was germany and to an extend vietnam)

End of tesb's quote

do you only use one type of ship in Sins?

the only one being spammed is LRM which is the closest we get to artillery in Sins

technically the best way to attack is with different types of weapons

i am not saying that there is no use of artillery. i am saying in most situations it is outclassed by other assets

jets have limited area time, something artillery does not have an issue with

apaches are extremely vunerable to even the simplest air defense while it takes a very very sophicticated air defense to stop a shell

drones are a little better then jets and apaches but are limited in numbers and cost, artillery is cheap and can be used in great numbers (shells are smaller than drones)

and a lot less accurate

when you are engaged in a sort of close firefight (say ~700 meters) you don't want artillery

true, the only thing that artillery is not good at is close combat

but the same is can be said for jets and drone (though apaches can get it tighter with guns, but that defeats the whole replace artillery effect)

and also the accuracy of artillery is a lot more accurate the most people realize

Bad accuracy is usualy the fault of bad cordinates by the solder doing the fighting. Which to be honest no fault of his own, I dont know how well I could call in an artillery or air strke while being shot at.

if there was a sort of conventional war between somewhat equal powers artillery would have a lot more use, but since there is no enemy around with that description i would prefer other assets.

Actually, no. They developed a really kick ass artillery up near A&M that is in limited use largely because of the preexisting forms of air-power we have. It's a small, one man artillery design that with a good operator can accurately hit a target 1 meter wide from a helluva distance away. But like the automatic shotgun, current methods of war and other devices largely render it a toy.

Well, Houston is 29 degrees and 45 minutes North, so I should be good. Unless you were referring to South.

Nope your good. Texas...land of big egos and great steaks :P

I would argue the big egos, but then I would have to flaunt my awesome humility.

been thru Texas

talk about flat

except for the women

had to laugh at a sign at an overpass that was over the highway that read something like

"Warning, vehicles on other side cannot see you" or something like that, it was a long time ago

Yeah, people think of Texas as a Mesa covered desert. I live in flat, wetlands. Rains in big droves. But yes, the women are amazing. Fine mixture of everything from German breeds to Hispanic. I've only ever had one girlfriend under a D cup. God bless.

so you're saying you only had one GF and she was less than a D-cup? i feel so sorry for you... =P

yeah, my freind in Texas actually lived up near Fort Worth and by then it became a bit more rugged So I know its not all flat

but driving East at 6:00 am was quite the eyeopener :sun:
