I play TEC. For the most part I've been playing a random medium map vs 3 hard random AI. I've been working on trying to speed up my game kind of getting myself ready to noob in on PvP. What I'm finding is that I'll have one enemy down and the other two logistically beaten in about an hour and a half. I can get that faster if I have a good map by using a Sova rush or LC spam.
Then what happens is that it takes me another 1.5 to 2 hours to get my win, and this is the part I need help with I think. Often by this time I have 2 or three Marza's for missile barrage and popping planets, an Akkan, and maybe a Sova or two. With that I have a fairly balanced host of frigates, including 10-20 of the anti-structure guys.
I've found that by this stage I can ignore most structures in enemy territory though I make sure to kill down their culture for the most part. I'll pretty much cut through to their home world, and just kinda work my way around the circle till everything is dead. Meanwhile I'll have a defensive fleet to keep my core worlds clear.
So my specific question would be:
Is there a good TEC fleet makeup that is known for speeding this "mop up" along? Or perhaps a good technique for something like splitting the offensive fleet into two groups - one that beats the grav well into submission and a second that just cleans up the leftovers and colonizes the planet?
Also, what would be good time targets to work for towards having the 1st adjacent enemy dead and the game finished. I don't feel so bad about the 1.5 hours, but the next couple hours are a little anti-climactic.
Thanks in advance.
