I had some more ideas for improvement:
1: I suggest that in the short display window of fleet strength, the ship types are sorted by how many ships the faction has. or how many fleet points it consumes. this way, it is quite easy to quickly tell what an enemy fleet is composed of mainly. and whether you are equipped to deal with it.
I attached a screenshot to show what I mean:

2: please make a "split fleet" screen as found e.g. in Imperium Galactica. actually, just shamelessly copy it from there, because that worked wonderfully. I sometimes find myself uniting separate fleet for larger maneuvers and then wanting to split off a part, to leave it behind, to guard other flanks etc. a transparent way of selecting it away would be great.
empire tree does not work too well with it, because either things are stacked and you cannot move groups smaller than 10 or they are unstacked and it is completely crowded.
3. now to a few ai comments: I would like to set more precise ai behavior, in particular with fleets. e.g. focus fire yes or no. which targets to normally concentrate on (structures, ships, capital ships, combat craft, support craft, individual ship types?), priorities for special abilities.
Since a full expansion is now in the works, those are not unreasonable requests for such a package. and they could allow more efficient playing.
