I have played a bit now in Rebellion and it's clear that the factions are unbalanced--particularly online and the ones other players are using.
No matter what faction I play, other players that build more quickly and efficiently always defeat me.
I have noticesd that the DPS these players dish out is far superior to mine simply because they were smarter at building their economies and fleets. For example, if I have only built one frigate and they have two--then they start with double my DPS! Unbelievable.
I've also noticed the speed with which they are first able to reach systems is always faster than mine too because the seem to get their fleets built first. By the time I have my fleet built, they have already reached them. It's really impossible for me to win a game if they have colonized and defended planets before I reach them. This is completely unacceptable.
Additionally, in combat, the other players always seem to know how to time their ability uses just right. I think their microing is giving them an advantage here and I don't have time for it. It's unfair.
It's obvious that these players are using exploits such as co-operative teamwork, skillful strategy and a knowledge of the game mechanics. this gives them an incredible edge and ruins my games on ICO.
For these reasons I propose the following fixes:
- Other player's ships should move more slowly than mine by default.
- Other player's ships should have less armor and/or firepower than mine by default.
- Other player's economies should be slower than mine by default.
- The combat button should be removed from all other player's ships.
I realize it would be difficult for ICO to detect it was me playing and then to modify my client so I propose an additional faction be added named, "Sinperium" and that requires my login to be playable. Once this is done, I strongly feel the game will be very balanced.
