Ok. I've posted this same thread on the Impulse forums, and submitted a ticket. It's been over 18 hours with only a single, very unhelpful response on the forum thread and no response to the ticket, so I'm hoping that these forums are somehow both more active and more knowledgeable. I bought Sins ages back. 1.0. I upgraded over time to 1.05, then got Impulse. I never got past 1.05 because I stopped playing. Recently, I lost my hard drive partition. The data was still there, an

I'm running Impulse. It shows me having version 1.03 installed. It shows there's a beta patch 1.09b[b].047 available. Where's the non-beta patch? Where can I get it? Version... I dunno... 1.08? Or whatever its version number is.

I may have found the solution: An old version of FRAPS I had running. I upgraded that, and, at least for now, the problem is no longer there. I upgraded in the middle of a bunch of "lowering my settings to the lowest values" stuff, so that might have changed things too. I've bumped those all back to the top again ('cept my resolution, I really should go do that), and the problem hasn't resurfaced ever since upgrading FRAPS.

I'm sitting here staring at my machine, virus scanner is off, and I booted up and quit Sins as fast as humanly possible and it's still eating up 100% of my processor power. 50% via the Sins EXE file, and 50% via a rundll32. Dual core, so that's both cores being eaten.

A fix for the issue where the game doesn't actually shut down. Ever. https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?forumid=408&aid=176790 And yes, some sort of improvement to the PJIs. I thought that they DID cover the entire grav-well. They don't?! The hell am I building them for? "Block jumping deeper into territory" as an improvement doesn't actually work on maps where "deeper" leads to a plasma storm or gas giant where you -can't- build, right? So perhaps instead it shou

I don't have any issues with other programs, and I'm running AVG, not Avast. Also, I'm using only the standard Windows firewall combined with a hardware router firewall.

I probably have the exact same issue. When I shut down Sins, it doesn't actually -shut down- in my processes. https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?forumid=408&aid=176790

After quitting the game by any means (pushing the last button* in the main menu or the Download Updates button) does not actually seem to shut the game -down- on my system. As in: It's still listed in my processes listing twelve hours later. Worse, it seems that every time I quit (or possibly every time I End Process the Sins of a Solar Empire.exe process) my system starts to slowly grind to a halt. Very very bad. Ok. That was the correct folder. I watched the record, and... no, this is not an example of the superiority of military research. Both sides had nearly equal research in to the military trees. Both ignored the civilian side entirely. One simply had a bigger fleet than the other. And yes, the 'strong vs' text assumes in a 1v1 fight at equal or near equal health levels. Not in 5v30 combat. (Note, I suck at RTSes, so everything I might be saying is quite possibly a lie.)

Wait, which folder does this go in? As I haven't played or recorded any multiplayer games, my data folder has plenty of single player related folders, and a couple multiplayer related folders, but none marked as being both multiplayer and recording related. Am I correct in assuming that creating a folder named Record-MultiPlayer and putting it there will work?

I agree. There are several visual details that irk me like the tiny, less than explosive explosions from blown up ships and the lack of persistent debris after they're destroyed (my machine's a beast, so I could easily swing the option of having X number of debris fields in play at any one time, much like an FPS's decal limit), and the slightly off-looking traffic around planets. There's something about that traffic that just looks... beta-ish. The only other thing I can think of is bri
