Wow it's been four years since I wrote anything here on JU. It seems like a lifetime ago. I guess a catch up is in order. Three years ago I went on a world trip. It started off in Argentina, upto New York over to Germany then to Spain down to Sicily seeing where my Mum comes from and then up to the main land to see where my Dad comes from. Then went to Thailand and back home. I came back home to the start of a relationship with a guy who I spent t

Tonight I feel really excited. Next week is Spring. Which means that Im 8 months into my first year of my course. I've completed the second semester and last weekend finished my exams for the term. I think I did pretty well. I wont know until a couple of weeks, but Im really enjoying doing what Im doing now. There has been days where I haven't had the energy to get out of bed but I've done it, and now I've got 3 weeks break from school. And guess what! On Sunday
Thankfully, the Australian Federal Court has seen sense. This is a win for free speech, not for, as some might think, intolerance.
Awesome!! FInally some sense. :)
What exactly is his “ilk”? Only the author knows and doesn't elaborate.
Im sure you have a dictionary :)
You know what's REALLY annoying? People who take offense over a word like 'ilk', assigning a negative connotation to it that simply does not exist. I see it's time for a basic vocabulary lesson.
I love you Whip :)
I assigned a negative connotation to it
Maybe you need to see a priest about that.
What is in fact rude, totally disgusting, and childish, is enacting a law that prohibits free people from expressing themselves. Talk about intolerance!
My point exactly Mason
As for this conversation... all points have been made and since we are all capable of disagreeing without being disagreeable can we agree to end this coversation now.
Excuse me?
Once again I am saddened by this as any good Catholic should be but referring to Catholics as ilk is inappropriate and indecent.
Im sorry if I have offended you. I don't intend to place all catholics in the same basket. My experience has shown me something very different to what the ordinary person on the street has experienced. Cathoicism to me has shown me fear and guilt, I cannot walk into a church without feeling nausea, I have nightmares, etc. No amount of saying Im
Sounds like an infringement on your freedom of speech for sure, PB. The US Constitution prohibits that, (as you know) because just as the 'pope and his ilk' have a right to appear and speak in public places, so do those who oppose their views.
Hey LW.. although we are a democracy here in Oz we do not as yet have a Bill of Rights like you guys in the USA do. This state government seems to think it can impose laws on people without proper debate in the parliament.

In the next week Sydney will be overtaken by Catholics from around the planet as the pope and his ilk descend on our city for world youth day. Not only is this costing us 92 million tax payer dollars but it is also going to disrupt the entire city with road blocks and road closures. What has also happened is that our state government has passed laws which in effect take away the rights of the citizens of this city to protest. We are coming to know it as the 'Annoyance law". This means that if
Please don't hold the view of God thru the lens of the RCC.
No quite the opposite mate... from this I have learnt that it isnt religion that brings you closer to God but through the awakening of your own spirituality you can find God yourself without the help of anyone else.
How far would you extend your principle? Is is right or wrong for an adult to have sex with a child? or would you draw the line here?
Funny though because when I think of You I picture dressed just as your profile picture is, covered from head to toe and a thousand ;ayers underneath just so that men cannot see you naked because it is a sin and you might conjure up lustful thoughts. if you would really like to know I was brought up a strict roman catholic and was e
I believe there are SPIRITUAL laws as well.
I too believe there are spiritual laws, although I dont believe that there is a God sitting in some mythical heaven waiting to judge me nor telling me that I should be this or that. I have great belief in my own personal spiritual experiences that God is EVERYTHING and EVERYWHERE and this being the case then I am part of THAT, ALL THERE IS. My experiences and your experiences all make up the sum of the whole with which this ex
What if I believe gravity does not apply and jump off a cliff? The consequences of being wrong are dire. I'll leave it to you to hold your beliefs, Phoenixboi, because you're a big boy and entitled to that. But assuming for a second that you are wrong, the sincerest belief in the world will not change the facts.
Come on Gid.. what your saying is scientific law and fact, what most people believe in has not ever been proven as a scientific fact and therefore "beliefs" ar

Heaven forbid anyone ever think that God does not judge and that the only ones who do are people with their myopic vision of a world based on righteousness. What if I believe that there is no sin, that the only one I have to answer to is my own Consciousness and that there is no "right" or "wrong" but only different experiences which allow different reactions according to what I do or do not do. No matter what people or society may think of me and people of the same s
Homosexuality is a gay disease in that is where it started. Yes, many outside of the homosexuals contracted this later but it's roots and most of the cases are still by large in the homosexual community.
We've already dealt with this many times here on JU....why go to the Old Law? There were diff laws for diff reasons but this one is repeated in the NT as well. Why not check out the NT because you'd see the same admonition there as well? Having sex with the same sex is an abomination and is strictly forbidden by God both in the OT and the NT.
Can you point out to me where Jesus, as the Son of God says anywhere in the Bible that homosexuality is a sin? I was just checkingout all the newness on JoeUser when I saw that it has been 4 years today (well today my time) that I signed up a blog here. Wow that time has gone fast. But it seems like a whole lifetime has passed since then. And so have the bloggers on JU. I mean who can remember Madpoet and that dickhead Sir Peter? There was even a stage where I was having a flame war with LW, who I love heaps now. I think since then I've been in a couple of relationships,

Hey there FS great article. I've got to put my 2 cents worth in being gay and all. Id like to bring up some points. 1. For people who still think homosexuality is a sin. Then please read the bible and tell me i'snt it also a sin to wear two kinds of cloths, eat anything with blood, oysters, having different shaped beards, or eating two different kinds of grains from the same field? Just read leviticus[link="http://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/Lev/Lev019.html"]WWW Lin

Hi there guys.. It's been a while since I've posted anything here, although I do come in from time to time and have a read up on some people to see how they are going. I'm doing really well. Am back at school studying Herbal Medicine so have been real busy with study. I'm on a break at the moment for another week and while I'm on break I've been playing around with my camera at the beach down the road from where I live. Here are some of the pictures I took a couple of days ago. <a tit
