dwm, you still make me laugh. voo, are you hinting at a new skin from you? i hope you're doing well. you always had some great quotes back in the day. roman, congrats on the photog gig! you should be very proud but knowing you, you're pretty humble about it. treetog has returned! have i mentioned i'm loving this thread?

i'm betting the low-end and mid-range phones will be called lumia and the high-end will be called surface. i haven't seen that in print anywhere, i'm just guessing. i'd be all over a surface phone, to be honest. this red 1520 and 64 gb micro sd card will be sold quite quickly.
MikeB314 aka The Greatest Skinner Of All Time (imho) it was his Green & Tan skin that got me hooked on using WB skins. that was a long, long time ago (DOn McClean) i'm loving this thread. just seeing these guys post here is bringing back some great memories. about IRB...that's too bad. I truly hope the guy is alive and well. same with yrag and tiggz.
starkers, you can enroll in the preview program easily. just download the developer preview app, login, and then check for updates as you normally would. i suggest installing the nokia software recovery tool first just in case......
erk! great to see ya irbrainiac.....whatever happened to that guy?
best of luck!
starkers, ye ol' pirate, i agree with you completely. the app situation is overblown. windows phone has every app i need and then some.
dawebmasssa!!! i'm loving this thread. it's great to see old friends :) hippy, frosty, voo, koop, nakor, chris (from baltimore), dawebmassa, lasse, whoever it was who would bring silentbob, and others always had me in stitches back in the day. there were numerous times my sides hurt due to laughter because of those guys.
the windows phone os is great. i admit it took some getting used to but after learning it, i love it. the live tiles are fantastic. to me, the notification center in 8.1 is there to appease droid and ios users who may convert wo wp phones. a new feature in 8.1 is the transparent tiles allowing a wallpaper to shine thru. i love that. i can put a pic of granddaughter back there and see that little gal every time i look at my phone......once i update to 8.1 again [e digicons]<_<[/e] my son-in-l
dani!! great to see ya
monk, i wouldn't say it was a nightmare. it wasn't all that much fun though. it made to not want to instal the official until after i've read some threads and comments from others who have installed it. i'm sure most if not all the bugs will be worked out by then. heck, ms has already stated a new music app will be released soon to correct the issues people are having with it.
LASSE! this thread brings back some good memories
i'm proud to say i'm not on facebook :)
another bug with 8.1 and the 1520: the phone wouldn't turn off. tell it to shut down and it would restart instead
roman!!! how are you? who's next? dawebmassa (dewebmaster ?) ? maybe chris who lived in the baltimore area. he was hilarious. maybe pixelpirate or danill0c?
my biggest issue with 8.1 was it bricked the camera. opening any camera app was a waste of time. noting worked. all i could see was a black screen. secondary was the battery drain. i put 8.1 on the 920 at first and that phone went from 100% charged to dead in the water within 4 hours and i the only thing i had the phone doing was trying to find my music via the music app. thirdly was the complete fail concerning the music app. that darned app could not find a single one of the songs i ha
i wish at&t has the 930. i probably would've gotten one instead of the 1520. i think the screen size of the 930 is perfect although i'm getting used to the large screen of the 1520. i installed the 8.1 preview the other day. boy, was that a mistake. i mentioned that to the store manager yesterday when i went in there with the person who bought my 920. we were there to get her up and running with the 920. anyway, i mentioned to the manager that i was sure my installed the preview v
if you could only go back in time to the good old days on irc #stardock......
frosty, it'll be a great day if and when mike stops by. i met that dude in stardock's offices when they moved a few years back. what a great day. met mike, koop, brad, karma, mormegil, greenreaper, and many others. i had a blast that day. i wanted to go up there when jafo was visiting but i was sick as a dog that day and couldn't make the trip. there are/were many good people in that building.
i'm using it. my phone is definitely faster now. that and all the new features make it a great upgrade in my opinion. now, after saying all that, my two complaints are 1) my phone's battery life has been shortened tremendously and 2) the xbox music app sucks balls. they've absolutely ruined the music app. good thing i use the nokia music app instead.
mark, i'm glad you're back for a visit. you're one of the funniest people i know. one of the friendliest people around, too.
MarkMcQ = Mark McQuinlan = Hippy? I may have the McQuinlan part wrong. Mark (hippy), how the heck are ya, dude? The place isn't the same without ya.
ok, it seems a new delevopment has occured today. when i attempt to close a 'modern' app by clicking on the traditional X in the title bar, the app doesn't close per se. it's almost as if it the action is a hybrid of closing and minimizing. the window closes but the app remains active with the pinned taskbar icon. by that, i mean the icon is framed as if the app was minimized instead of closed. when i click on the framed icon again to open the app, the app behaves as if it is opening and not
