By late game, you can easily take out pirate bases (while this would be suici

Sorry Whippersnapper, I've been in a sour mood today... While your solution works, it still is leaps and bounds behind other multiplayer games. Ironclad (or Stardock) ought to give us a better solution. Even if that just means they give you a place to specify a CLICKABLE download URL.
Downloading and adding maps, especially Sins maps which are just tiny little text files, really isn't a big deal at all. However, it seems like gamers have just become increasingly lazy over time (consolized?) and won't bother to take the 2 minutes needed to add a custom map to their game. It just takes a 2 minute investment of time to have a better 2 hour game. Can't say I understand players' reluc

Time will tell.
At this point, I think that a better AI is probably more important. I mean, lets face it, multiplayer for this game didn't take off. A better single player AI could very well be a better selling point than upgrading the multiplayer.
Well, when Stardock updates the client, the multiplayer experience should improve.
Yep, it either a full expansion after Diplomacy or a true sequel (which I think is most likely, IMO).
After seeing that one semibootleg video on youtube of diplomacy, there had better be some real changes coming...
Allow for custom map auto-download. (I'm referring to Galaxy Forge-made maps.)
That is SORELY needed. The map system needs an overhaul. You can't download maps in-game, and in order to even get them into Entrenchment, you have to modify the manifest. That's just dumb. I understand the point of the manifests, and it sorta makes sens

The main complaint about the current diplomacy system was always that it was one sided, you could never give AI missions.
Yeah, but it should have been in a patch. It's not even worth $1 to me. If I want an AI to attack someone, as long as they're an ally, I just need to click on one of their planets, then say, "Set Ally Attack Targ

From Joystiq today:
Fans of the space strategy game Sins of a Solar Empire might remember that around this time last year developer Ironclad Games and publisher Stardock announced plans for three micro-expansions for the game to be available via digital download for $9
I tried it today, and it looks like it still works with the latest Sins. However, I didn't notice independant planets trying to colonize and fight back... this was the whole exciting thing for me. Where'd it go?
Also, will you guys, in your capital ship strengthener upgrade, give the capital carriers more squadrons? They currently are underwhelming, even in DS. Perhaps 14-16 squads at level 10 would make them more useful? One feature I would really like to see in SoaSE is a "build queue." I've seen it in another RTS, which I won't name. Really helped eliminate some micromanaging. Basically, the way it worked is that once you'd queued up some units to be built, you could click a button and it would just keep building that sequence. So if you went light-frigate x2, long-range-frigate x3, then clicked the button, once it built the first light frigate, it would place another on the back on the en
