You'd need to do something with virtual machines as the game will look for other copies of itself when it launches. Sadly that's the extent of my knowledge.

Win 64 Ultimate, on an AMD Phenom quad core. I do all sorts of gaming. Specifically 64 bit isn't a thing I look for, but I'm happy to see it.
The pre-order page is gone and the store wants to charge me full price. Looks like I missed out on the pre-order discount. I had hoped that it would have been extended to end of day today, but I guess not.
Excellent. Thanks. Ignore that keening sound, my credit card always makes that noise on payday. :D
Is the store going to be back up today? I had held off my pre-order to match my paycheck and would hate to miss it due to the store being unavailable.
My home gaming machine still uses a nVidia 9800 GT card and it's been very happy with everything that I've thrown at it. My wife has an ATI 4770. I *may* update this year. My wife's computer needs a dual core processor, but beyond that, performance has stayed good for much longer then I've expected.
AI coding is actually something that mildly interests me, however, and IF i get into a coding career I might try my hand at some AI. But even with the current AI, it would be just as simple as some conditionals with a response, i.e. "larger enemy force in sector, my cap ship is low/destroyed-- response= retreat" or "Number of failed attacks on one planet>9000 -- response= find another planet to attack"
Hard coded conditionals i
Can we get some details about the desync bug? Where was it hiding?
I'm 95% sure it is one starbase per player per gravity well, with the exception of stars, where it is four starbases per player.
I got my wife hooked on Guild Wars. Later we moved to L4D and soon L4D2. I also built her a Warhammer 40k army (she has a heavily house-ruled sisters army) and we've played Space Hulk together. To top it off, she's a player in my monthly D&D game. It's a nice feeling.
Was the site in question a legit seller of the software though? This smells to me like your friend just paid some pirates for a (still) illegal copy of the game and is now at risk of credit card fraud.
Win 7 x64 version and never seen an issue.
Sometimes developers create updates and their publishers won't even let them out.
What sort of backwards thinking leads to that situation? "We have a patch that our community wants. It will revitalize the game and cure cancer." "They can't have it. We'd look like heroes and we don't hold with that sort of thing." "Ok then... Wait... what?"

That's pretty much it in a nuthsell. It never ceases to amaze me how much time ends up being spent on paperwork rather than actually doing stuff and how much of that paperwork is largely wasted time.
I have the EXACT sentiments about Project Management and Change Management. Makes me think of the Paranoia RPG.
(3) They want to start working on Sins 2 or some other new product.
This is what I'm guessing. It could be like what happened with Guild Wars. When that development team sat down to do their fourth expansion, there was so much they wanted to do that instead they rolled things forward into a sequel.
I love the idea, and I think the software is nifty. However, I personally don't use my desktop for anything, simply because I almost never see it. If I'm at my computer, either I've got a window maximized and am working in it, or I'm into my start menu/quicklaunch and launching an app, which I'll run full screen.
In fact, for #2 you don't even need to run Impuse to launch your games, they can all be run on their own.
There was an old story I heard about the days at Commadore (C64 / Amiga computer company) There was a single reserved parking spot for some over entitled and hated VP. As a prank, one night a bunch of the engineers took down the reserved signes and repainted it for handicapped parking. Much humor was had the next morning when the guy showed up for work.
Do you "own" your copy of sins? Yes Do you own entrenchment? Yes Let say you were to divide you time between Vanilla and Entrenchment sins, what percentage of time do you play Vanilla or Entrenchment? 100% Entrenchment Roughly how many hours a day do you play Sins (either)(count mutliplayer also)? 1-2h If you play Vanilla Sins, do you play with mods?
Sometimes it's the smallest things. Just finished my Win 7 update yesterday.
Played tabletop D&D with a bunch of friends on Saturday and a swack of SoaSE (single player) on Sunday.
While I enjoy these movies it's just further proof that for me, SC II will be a single player game.
The first games I played were on an Intellivision game console. The first game I ever bought was Starcraft. I bought my first computer 3 months later.
Just a FYI: The links don't seem to work from the front page.
