Thanks for the tips man. I'm still not sure which race I like yet, lol. I'm still just playing games with each and trying to figure out which one I like best. All the tech trees are cool and all units are cool, but I may stick with Advent and/or TEC. I'm playing games with people online to try and get better as well. There will be improvement! Lol.
Distorted Truth
Ha! About 20-30 minutes and I have I think 6-7 colonized places. I lost one because my capship couldn't handle the problems there on its own but it's okay, it's a 1v1 on a large map lol :D
I gatcha. I'm looking to try out Vasari and maybe even stay with them because I saw someone say they can basically (to use a Warhammer reference) "deep-strike" into enemy territory and surprise them. I like this concept and even when I played Starcraft, loved to use Nydus Canals to get into their base. And their ships look certified BAMF.
Ohhh okay, haha. Thanks man.
LRM, LRF = ?
Just finished through my first game all the way. Wasn't bad. I'm going to keep practicing against Easy Fortifier's so I can get the hang of the one race that I want to use (whatever race that is). I used TEC, I'm probably going to use Vasari next :)
That's a good point. I'm still trying to figure out my tactics and strategies. Still working on everything :). I like TEC so I'm probably going to stick to them.
Hey, try this. When playing the game, focus on taking names and kicking booty, but after the game is over, watch the REPLAY, where you can then focus on the beautiful elements at your leisure, and even pause it, zoom in, etc. By the way, sorry I couldn't answer your text earlier on ICO. I was in the middle of a heated battle
Haha no prob man. And yes, I could do that, lol.
I do get the lag during massive battles, but I can't make myself turn down the ship, planet, or building detail from highest to high. It looks too pretty! Lol.
I have encountered MiniDumps but with the AutoSave feature, it really doesn't bother me and I don't encounter them all that often. Even with my giant fleet that I have in my game right now. The lag yes, does happen with giant fleet battles and sure it could be countered with turning down the settings...but what fun is that? :P. Doesn't really bother me, lol. No desyncs yet though. Though those wouldn't bother me either, lol.
EA does stuff for PC too. But probably not. Until IC starts making a giant profit on games they sell, EA probably won't step in.
Lol. But he's cool :D. And yeah, you're right I suppose. Other RTS games I've played though, I've been more or less able to look at the battle going on.
It wouldn't be a rep., but management's decision. You can go on a killing spree, lol.
Lol they better not buy IC out. IC is on a roll with these games. EA would make it "cool" or "trendy" somehow...but fail miserably in the process. Granted, EA has published some awesome games but yeah...I dont want them touching Sins
First you are wasting antimatter Second the underdevelopment tax you are charged makes the cost saving of a free extractor almost pointless early game Do you really want your cap ship waiting around to colonize the SAME planet when it could just do it once and head off to get the next one ? x3 It's not just the free extractor, it's free extracTION; and you're getting 33% co
Excellent. Sounds good. Can't wait for Diplomacy either!
After playing through the game a bit, I can think of only one complaint that I have: Since there is a lot of management (macro and micro) going on, I find it that when you send your ships in to take a planet, or are taking over several planets at once, it is hard to focus in on that battle and appreciate the little details that the developers went into in coding and making the game look as beautiful as it does on its highest resolution and settings. I find that when taking other
Haha yeah yeah. I just got into Sins and I'm loving it. I never thought I'd like slow-paced, macro and micro management...but I do :D. Hit me up on ICO if you wanna play sometime man. Distorted Truth on ICO.
I'd love to see details on this alleged plan after Diplomacy. Though I am buying Diplomacy when it comes out in February via Impulse.
To a certain extent, you need to remember where your important assets are. Beyond that, you can always use the empire tree (on the left-hand side of the screen) to browse your assets in each gravity well, or you can just zoom out and highlight the different planets to see what's there. As far as military groups go, I just use control groups. I will select my primary task force and click control-1; now every time I click the "
I can be on whenever. More on the weekend. I'll be on this Friday whenever anyone wants to play. Winter break is coming up so I'll be on more then too.
I've noticed that another problem I have is keeping track of ALL my planets, ALL my buildings being built, plus research, plus what ships are where and in what system. It's all a lot to keep track of. Anyone have any tips? Useful hotkeys maybe?
Having played with you, I'd say your speed issue is entirely related to pacing and multitasking. You've gotta keep your units moving. Needless to say if a unit is sitting around idle it's not going to achieve very much, so keep it engaged. Secondly, multitasking will help you greatly. There's no rule that says you can only fight in one gravity well at a time. One of the best ways to get moving quickly in the early
Thanks man. That helps a lot.
