Pretty much yeah; you don't need to be overly quick in this game, and precision counts for a lot more.
And here I thought you had to be the rootenist-tootenist fastest space cowboy out there. That helps, thanks :D
Caps look to zoom in and out (doesn't zoom to cursor, unfortunately), and otherwise control groups. I'd love it if the game had a hotkey to swap targeting behavior (gravity well, local area, hold ground), but alas you need to access this critical function from an obscure sub-menu...
So that's the only good one? Lol
Can anyone give me a list of helpful hotkeys to use while playing? I'm terribly slow at getting started and doing stuff. It may just be because I'm unsure of what to build, but I feel if I have hotkeys, I could be a bit faster.
That's a shame. Any word on a Sins expansion/Sins 2?
For logistic structures, it pretty much doesn't matter. If you have a starbase, repair platform, or hanger with shield bestowal, put them nearby so they can benefit from the effect. Otherwise, there's not really much you can do with these. For tactical structures, you want to build in tight clusters, preferably close to the planet. You could also try positioning a starbase near the edge of the gravity well (the AI likes
So I have trouble figuring out the best places for buildings. Where should buildings go in your gravity well? Is there a "best spot" for them?

They have different things they bring to table. Its like comparing apples to potatoes. SoA 2 is an awesome conversion mod. Meaning if you like Trek you love it. They put alot of hard work into making a great mod. <br /
This is kind of a pointless topic. Both mods are good because they both have their own unique strengths and weakness's Some say SoA 2 plays better than most "professional" trek games. While Distant Stars is a graphic enhancement mod that adds to Sins itself.
Yay for pointless things! Thanks for the reply nonetheless. I'm trying to get back into Sins. Ive missed it. Do you know

Which mod is better, SoA or DS?
Okay, so I haven't played Sins in a while, but like I do every Winter Break, I look for games to play, lol. Be it games I've played adn don't anymore and want to get back into, or new ones. In this case, a game I played and wanna get back into since I have a more powerful machine to play Sins on. My only problem is, I don't have Diplomacy! Do lots of people still play online on Entrenchment? If so, would anyone like to practice with me when I get it re-installe

I'm up for a long relaxing game! Available starting the 18th. GMT -05.
I'm excited for the patch!
I definitely will be.
A lot of people have Entrenchment, yes :P
I added you :). Maybe we cna get a game going tomorrow :D
Generals and Zero Hour were good. I did like Tiberium Wars though. The campaign's were terrible, but I feel they retained most of the old C&C material.
You mean Generals and Zero Hour?
C&C wasn't bad though lol.

If you look inside the extras folder take the folders within the "DM" folder and paste them over the top of the other files for the main mod. I'll post an update about the next patch tomorrow, too tired atm
Next patch?! Oh boy!
There are two units Advent has at the start of the game: seekers and disciples. The seeker is a scout-type unit, the disciple is a light-frigate type. Ten of either should have killed a single Krosov in practically a heartbeat, so something is up. What other units are at this terran planet? If there are multiple Kodiaks or LRM's you may have some difficulty taking it on even with a capital ship backing you up. Rem
Okay, I need help with Advent early game. I sent out TEN fighters (i forget the name...the ones you get at the start) to take a terran planet and they couldn't kill ONE Krosov. It's frustrating. It's taking me so much longer to colonize with Advent than with anyone else, but I know they have a good end game, so I'm trying. Any tips?
