Better than Midway? I think so. With more units on screen, better graphics and a reworking of the controls I do think so. The plane controls are not bad and cockpit view looks really good. The last Skirmish map is the only one to give you full control of everything. Due to the scope of that map I can see where multiple players are needed.

SP demo only. The first one is a bit of a training teaching about AA guns, flying and such. It also includes 2 skirmish modes against the AI. One has you strictly controlling planes trying to protect landing craft against Japanese planes and ships. The secong map gives full control over planes, ships and subs while trying to take islands. I am still getting my butt handed to me on this map.

Nope. I don't think anyone has mentioned it before https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/334695 ;) The wife and I both have finished the game. Wonderful game and I hope the addon comes soon.

I ran good on my system which consisted of a Geforce 8800 GT 512MB and Core 2 Duo E8400 with Vista64. I have had it lockup on completion of the ground battle training and trying to exit standard ground battle. *sigh* Still though I really like this game. Word of warning.... close combat with teh Americans is suicide. Sea battles are great, although I think the ships sails flutter too much when shot. I love how everyone jumps overboard when capturing a ship. Too bad no sharks :

Reply to XCOM Series in PC Gaming

I have the original version when it was called UFO-Enemy Unknown on the Commodore Amiga [e digicons]:D[/e] While not involving aliens a great game in its' own right is Silent Storm and the sequel Sentinels. Imagine X-com tactics with teh ability to take out half a building. Very cool tactical game. Combined realtime/turnbased kind of a mix of X-Com and Jagged Alience. It uses the havoc engine and you can get some very realistic battles. I heard an

I know. I feel that pain. I had actually met HDI and Mithis at E3 2004. They were very nice people.

I know, I posted it [e digicons][/e] At this point though both Most Wanted and HDI seem to be focusing only on handhelds and have moved completely away from the PC market.

I promoted the heck out of this game way back when and I still stand by it. Despite a few bugs in the expert level near the end of teh game, which could be worked around, I still found it to be an outstanding game. Heck I even got into a little conversation at Gone Gold with Mr. Smart over the game. On a side note, in an interview the deve

You know there is one game that seems to be loved by a lot of people, even though it has levels, and that is Puzzle Quest. There is a demo available that gives a good taste of teh game. It tops out at level 6 I believe.

Not to change the subject much but how would you compare Jutland to Pacific Storm: Allies?

I have lost my computer... :( My wife is a big HoMM fan so I decided to get her King's Bounty as a Christmas present. When I left for work at 11pm she was playing the game and when I got home she had just woken up and started playing again. Now I can't play Fallout 3. *sigh*

First off you guys are doing a great job and I am glad to see you get milage out of this engine than what became of Nexus, even though what you guys did was still top notch. (you knew I had to throw that game in ;) ) I, unfortunately, haven't had time to check the new update since the wife took over my computer with the Christmas gift I got her. damn, that King's Bounty :( Since I haven't gotten teh new mod yet I really can't comment 100% but I would say that the battles should not be

I recommend the Hoyle games. I just picked up Hoyle Puzzle & Board games from Encore. It use to be a Sierra game but I guess Encore picked them up. http://www.encoreusa.com/product.aspx?upc=705381165200 I bought mine at Wal-Mart. I already have it wrapped up but seems to me it also included some other big puzzle game in the vein of Hodge Podge. (2 player adventure puzzle game.)

Youtube vid Presentation tech trailer from 2004. Well, I finally got around to trying to rip this sucker from a Bink format to another that I could post on youtube. Sorry about teh sound but I could not get any sound. Bink is a pain and I hate it!! Anyway I thought it interesting to see how Midway (later called Battlestations: Midway) started out and what they were shooting for in teh game. At least in Paci
