You just wrote "you are sweet, sweet tears of suffering are so tasty..." which isn't a sentence.
Fixed. I was halfway out the door to renew the sticker on my car. Unfortunately, I ran late on waiting, and had to book it to work. Nevertheless, the general idea still applies.
I wasn't bitching
I'd want the same question answered. I'm gonna be building a new gaming tower early next year, and Sins is a favourite of mine to the point that my steam library has it categorized as "all time greats", but its reached a point where no matter how much better the PC gets, Sins is gonna hit the same limitations because speed doesn't scale on a single core to any significant degree anymore. So I could get a 64 core 3.5GHz PC with

Question/suggestion: Would it be possible to add a colonizing effect onto the Nephilim cannon? Each cannon shot would flood the area with culture and/or colonize it if it's a free to colonize planet. For concept, you can inject the idea of "transferring Nephilim life energies" into the planet's denizens.
Alright, I should know this but I'm blanking out right now. Can you use buffInstantActionType "ColonizePlanet" in a buff or will it only work in ability entity files?
Everything I can think says "no". Methinks you can only use it in standard abilities.

Playing with a reduced fleet size helps, too. My mod has rescaled fleet requirements of ships and runs on 1000 fleet supply. I also have rescaled strikecraft squadrens, trade/refinery ships, TSOP, etc. I can generally go 3+ hours before I see any lag whatsoever (of course, clusterfuck battles do encourage lag if you're zoomed all the way in). I'm using an OCed AMD A10 5800K.
I thought the latest patch allowed for more multicore support?
They'd have to rebuild the game engine to do that. You can't simply fix it with a patch. If they could, it would have been done LOOOONNNNG ago. It's not cost effective for Stardock or Ironclad to redo the game to add this support. They'd only do this in whatever next proper (not Sins of a Dark Age) incarnation that Sins
5. how big can the galaxy map be before performance hits appear? is there a limit?
Despite what Zombie is saying, from my many years of playing this game in my LAN group, and modding it, I'd say to make the maps no bigger than 75. Seems to be the sweet spot for size while retaining competitiveness, discovery, and good length to the game. TSOP does wonders for the game, and raw CPU power is the way to go. Multicore means nothing

He had bad usage on referencing what he owned and used the broadest term he could use. His posts are also incoherent. The fault lied with the poster being able to accurately express his points.

At very least, you should have bought the damn thing by now. You give piracy a bad name.

I read that you removed lots of research. I was happy... until I loaded up the game. [e digicons]X|[/e] I think you added just as much as your "removed". The tech trees still look like an entangled mess with far too much on each faction.

Any game in Sins can take a long time. I only play with friends, and much of the that was LAN or direct connect. I never played through ICO. Is it worth it? Absolutely. Sins, despite it's overambitious design for the game engine, is still one of the best 4X strategies on the market (especially for newbies to the genre since it's 4X light).
An opinion, some people do care about them.
You don't need the game to tell you what goals to accomplish in it. Surely, you can figure that out on your own. Besides, achievements are just a fad, and not a selling point like some titles make it out to be. If they do, it's wasted development time.
