Newegg is great. The new cpu takes a different socket x58 and is looking hot. There is a good article at Techspot at: http://www.techspot.com/article/131-intel-corei7-memory-performance/ <a href="http://www.techspot.com/article/13

Bichur I disabled it in msconfig startup and services. I need to uninstall Nero and re-install without it to get rid of it though. I didn't know what it was and included it when i did the update patch a few days ago. I didn't realize it would affect wblind.dll so much.

Zubaz, Since I was using windowblinds and the dll was wblind.dll I assumed it was the problem. Mr. Google says that nbhgui.exe is Nero?? Possibly an app called inCD, I'll see if i can uninstall that part of Nero. I just ran a patch on nero last week I wonder if it messed up my Windowblinds. Stranger things have happened. And yes you can skin Nero to some extent. More info: WindowBlinds version : WindowBlinds 6.2 (bu

Wow what a post, Can you do an update of solidworks icon, I found one from 2007? Sorry I don't know how to post an image, can you explain? All I see is Insert/Edit Image and that asks for a Image URL and if I copy the path to my desktop ther it gives me a red box like this: I see a lot of those in this post so I may not be the only one in the dark.

Not sure if I had a problem with a single windowblind (I have changed to one I have used before) or if it is a program problem. I got this error with the Windowblind ABasic: Error signature Appname: nbhgui.exe Appver: 5.5.3.7 Modname: wblind.dll ModVer: 6.2.0.0 Offset: 006a760 When I clicked on "To view Technical information about the error report, click here" I got: <DATABASE&

My Pleasure. I haven't gone to Vista yet, but plan on building a new puter w/Vista 64 when the economy gets right again.

If its XP see: Using TweakUI to change the shortcut arrow icon is more safer. Plus, it offers another special icon Light Arrow (icon within TweakUI.exe). This gives the user an extra option to set the shortcut arrows to Light Arrow style, without completely removing the arrow. Not sure if that works with Vista. For vista Checkout; http://www.winhelponline.com/articles/153/1/How-to-remove-or-modify-the-Shortcut-overlay-in-Windows-Vista.html
Was it a system file?
Anytime you are concerned you have deleted a system file, it can easily be replaced by typing SFC /Scannow as a Run command it will require your Windows CD unless you have a Utility Partition of Windows. also helpful if your computer starts acting weird for any reason. It simply makes sure all your Windows Protected foles are intact and replaces your DLL cache.

Stumpman, Try disconnecting your CDROM or DVD player. When they start going bad they can cause what you are seeing. And never keep a CD in the drive, causes a similar issue. Windows Explorer explores all you sources and if the player has a problem it tries for a long time before giving up.

Richard, I believe it is a known problem. Several of nVidia's chipsets are having problems. Check out Techspot at: http://www.techspot.com/news/31208-nvidia-g92-and-g94-gpus-failing-too.html and http://www.techspot.com/news/31222-nvidia-losing-money-over-defective-gpus.html And this article: http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20080813-nvidia-in-the-red-last-quarter-due-to-manufacturing-issue.html Take it back or send it back and get your money back.

harrellj, In addition to all the good suggstions above I would like to add my two cents worth. In order to successfully remove any virus form an XP or ME computer you must first turn off system restore or it will be back on your first reboot. An uptodate Antivirus and some type of firewall other than Windows XP firewall is minimum to avoid infection. good free ones out there for both. I like NOD32 Antivirus by Eset as I have dialup and its updates are minimal every time I g

Alfie414, There are a couple of other issues in AVG 8 Free worth reporting about. Apparently Grisoft has purchased a program called LinkScanner which causes high CPU utilization. They claim to have fixed the problem, but I recommend not even using it by going to Tools\Advanced Settings\ and on the left chose LinkScanner and uncheck the box on the right. If you are using HTML e-mail I recommend turning off e-mail certification by going to the same place Tools\Advanced

Well Ive done it again. I used Impulse (latest full download version) to update Window blinds to version 6.10.84 and am getting the same error on reboot. Impulse for some reason automatically updated itself when i logged in and then I updated four items and rebooted. That is when I got: "This machine MUST be rebooted after installing this version of WB6" again. X-( Update 7/25/08 Happy ending again. I went into SDC last night to roll it back and there was a new version (88)

Jalida, You migt try some of the data recovery programs they are quite good. When I upgraded my previous computer form widows 200 Pro to AP Pro I formatted the hard drive and installed fresh after copying my stuff to DVDs so i thought. i woke up in the middle of the night realizing the number fo backup DVDs i had would not hold all my photos and sure enough i had lost my wedding pictures. Bad consequences for the new groom. I purchased a program called Active-Undelete and was able to rec

Seabass, Impulse seems to have installed OK. Although I didn't get a Impulse Dock, which is fine with me. I had removed it from the Programs\Start since it was trying to load even after uninstalling Impulse. I'll check out the FAQ. Impulse loaded alright and said there were 4 updates available. FAQ page gave me: 404 error

Seabass, Thanks for the suggestion. I think my problem might have started when I downloaded a new version of Impulse that wasn't the Full Download. Can you give me a link for the full download and i'll download from work and then do the uninstall reinstall at home. Thanks, Peter
