Outstanding job Eville and team. I was wondering why it was taking so long to see a first complete release. After spending several bug free hours playing on a SMALL map, I now understand and I am speechless. The level of detail in the modifications in this game is astounding. I mean you even have pretty decent voice work included for CIS ships and whatnot. Wow, just wow. I remember when SOSE was first announced I was hoping Eville would come over from his terri

Never mind. I fixed the hummingbird fighters myself. Anyone snooping around the .entity files should try these numbers on their fighters and bomber files: maxAccelerationLinear 30.000000 maxAccelerationStrafe 10.000000 maxDecelerationLinear 100.000000 maxAccelerationAngular 9.999992 maxDecelerationAngular 99.999985 maxSpeedLinear 270.000000 It's basically a reduction of a factor of 10. Now the x-wings glide and turn by the bigger ships just like they d
Eveille and team, Just finished a few hours of playing with this mod. I have to say it is simply outstanding. I can't get over how much better the details are on the star wars ships vs the original game models. Quite frankly I didn't expect the engine could support such fantastic detail. Well done! Irondclad modelers should sit up and take notice at your work. I absolutely love how you nailed the miniscule scale of the fighters. They are
Man, is it ever so refreshing to see the star wars universe come alive. Thanks Eville. I remember when you released the first version of the homeworld mod. It was rough around the edges but still impressive. But what blew me away was when i revisited the updated mod a few months later and was blown away by the little details you had thrown in. I hope you have motivation to do this with this mod. Awesome stuff nonetheless. I praise and curse lucasarts. I
I have to agree the balance adjustments may be to soon based on just a few players feedback. It's human nature to find faults with a game system before assuming their own lack of skill is at fault. Fragile human egos want to find something else to blame before blaming themselves. I see this all the time with MMOs. Typically player's cry foul on the game balance when outskilled by a more experienced opponent or just call them cheaters when they are "unfairly" beaten. M
This game is slowly but surely becoming virtual liquid crack for me  I predict lot's of productivity loss due to this game. Damn you ironclad!!!!
Finally a space RTS game where the debris don't vanish after a few seconds. I just saw my first frigate go poof and was amazed at how long the debris lingered. It's these little details that impress me the most about a high quality game. Now if only the ships weren't frozen in place when idle. A little newtonian physics movement would have went a long way with this game. But that's just a small quibble I have with the game. Man, I can't wait to see the star wars mod no
First off, I pre-ordered this game months ago and can't wait to play it. The only other dev house that has impressed me with this type of stratgegy genre is Lesta. They created an epic WW2 ship warfare game called Pacific Storm/ Pacific Storm Allies. I highly recommend that this community check that game out. It's not sci-fi but it's epic in scope and detail just like this game and is a nice alternative once you need a break from this one. I really wish stardock would
Eville, here's an even better suggestion for the mod Make all the planet objects faction symbols (rebel symbol, empire symbol etc) and have planet wallpapers appear once zoomed in close enough. This will allow believable scaling for all other objects and ships. Because you if you think about it, only the planets appear to be out of scale for the game in general.
Evile, first off let me say I am a big fan of your work. Those models you made for HW2 are jawdropping to say the least. I am very excited to see you here looking at modding this engine. My only comment about your points is I wish this game went the route similar to Imperium Galactica III. When you zoomed into combat the planet scaled massively into the background providing an epic feel to combat. I really wish ironclad had gone this route. Having the little planets modeled w
Been reading some complaints about the game getting boring. This will happen if you play a game that's still in development. I was happy to invest into this game and get a sneak peek at whats coming but I know better than to keep playing a half-finished game. By the time the game is finished a lot of beta testers will be very burnt out and will blame the game when in fact they only have themselves to blame.
