This may have already been asked and answered, but will it be compatible with saved games? Just wondering if it's worth continuing with the game I started last night.

Never mind - I requested that my key code be sent to my new email address, and it refers to a DVD pre-order - so I guess I have the CE coming in the mail.

Unfortunately that got lost when my old email address got hacked into.

I preordered to get into the beta, but don't remember if I ordered the physical copy or not. How can I go back to check my order? I don't see any way to do it without ordering again.

I am guessing this is a design decision and not a bug, but does EVERY uninhabited planet have to have a pirate fleet guarding it? (This is based on about a dozen restarts since last night, so I may be unlucky). It's gotten to the point that I feel I'm better off exploring with a capital ship than a scout. Just downloaded this last night and have fire up a couple of test games. I'm just now starting to get a feel for the interface/research tree/etc. It seems like every unexplored system has a pirate fleet that wipes the floor with me. I tried starting a new game with "Marauders Off", and ran into the same situation. Are marauders the same as pirates, and if not, what's the difference? OK -I'm 99% ready to jump off the fence and get this today. Just 2 more questions: 1) Can you issue orders while paused? (I'm basically a turn-based player) 2) How extensive is the manual that comes with the beta? Thanks for your time, btw.

Since you aren't ready to announce hardware requirements as yet, what happens if I pre-order, download the beta, and find my system can't handle it?
