1) Which is why I said factions, rather than races 2) Not too sure about that. Certainly doesn't feel the same to me when I attempt to play Chaos Space Marines. Mileage may vary on this. 3) Debatable. Differences may often not be as pronounced as they are between the three races in Starcraft, but I personally wouldn't use the same tactics playing Imperial Guard as I would Space Marines.

there have been games that have incorporated many races succesfully, but it takes a LOT of time and effort. Oh? Please name them. Highest I've ever seen is 4 races for War3... Unelss you count C&C general's use of "general" sub-races, which makes for 12... 3 distinct races with 4 similar sub-races each. Not exactly races, but factions that play pretty differently. Seven in the Dawn of War series: Spa
Now that's bloody weird... I didn't know you could even move those things.
For Vista it's: X:\Users\"your user name"\AppData\Roaming\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\RecordedGame Replace "X" with the drive letter where you've installed Windows.
I have no trouble with calling them squadrons, groups or wings, my principal issue is with calling them squads, since "squad" ("section" for commonwealth types) denotes a group of six to twenty soldiers or Marines. I don't think there's a single Navy or Air Force in the world that says "Squad" when referring to a group of aircraft. If the developers wanted to be original, they could've just as well called it "Glipglorp" or something. At least they're consistent though. The cut scenes in CoH kept
Yeah, according to this , you're also entitled to the 64-bit version. I found this link for ordering the 64-bit media.
Thanks for the responses, all very much appreciated. I'm guessing that something will be done in Beta 3 to increase the costs or required supply for capital ships. I'm curious, how many ships do you guys normally lose when attacking a heavily defended planet with your mixed fleets? On a somewhat unrelated note, is anyone else bothered by the misuse of the term "Squad" when referring to the fighter and bomber squadrons? Hope this is just a typo they overlooked and not something that will
If you buy retail Vista, you get both 32-bit and 64-bit not what the case says, the case says I have 32-bit. My bad, I checked and seems retail for Home Premium (and probably Home Basic) doesn't include both DVDs. You should still be able to order the media according to places like NewEgg . Your license applies
If you buy retail Vista, you get both 32-bit and 64-bit. There shouldn't be a price difference between 64-bit and 32-bit Vista if you go OEM. Biggest issue with 64-it OSes currently has to do with their drivers. 64-bit XP is around the same price as XP Professional in both retail and OEM.
A keyboard shortcut for zooming would be nice though in the event that the user doesn't have a scroll wheel. Other games implement this through either holding down both the left and right mouse buttons while moving forward or back or by using the plus and minus keys.
Do you mean mouse pad, as in the surface on which you move your mouse around, or do you mean the track pad, the little area usually below your laptop's keyboard which emulates a mouse? If you do mean your track pad, then it could be a driver issue.
Major Stress , it sounds to me from your post that you don't have your fleet specifically attack a target but instead move them to a certain point where they will engage all enemy forces within range. Did I understand this correctly?
Major Stress , so I'm guessing 22 Cobalts, 10 Javelis, 10 Gardas, 5 Perchiriens, 2 Kols, an Akkan and a Dunov should be about right. Or do you think I need to increase the number of flak frigates? Ron Lugge , I like the Sova as well especially once it levels up enough to carry four squadrons. I've had the Hoshikos and a single Cielo before, but I must've been using the Hoshikos wrong. Advalary , it's for an offensive fleet. I usually leave a single Sova plus s
Pre-Kodiak, but you've got everything else. (Hoshikos, Cielos, Perchiriens with all upgrades)
01) The cap ships really feel like capital ships and they're a huge leap from the cruisers and frigates. The fact that each capital ship is named also adds to this feeling of these ships being special. 02) The phase jump graphics look great 03) Refining and Trade ships 04) The graphics for when the Javelis fires its missiles. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" bord
I just started reading the forums two days ago, and I noticed there's been a lot of talk about reducing the number of ships or making capital ships more expensive. Yet at the same time some users have been claiming that a mixed fleet of frigates with a maximum of four capital ships should be able to defeat one which was almost entirely composed of the larger vessels. I'm curious, what kind of mixed fleet would you build with 380 supply points and how much would you have to micro-manage
