As I also said in another thread that described this problem: [quote] I recieved that error too, but it was just a registry problem, probably left over from the beta. I fixed it as follows: Use regedit to go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Stardock\ComponentManager\Drengin.net\ The key (looks like a folder) for sins of a solar empire is "sin". In my case I received that error because there was also a key called "sins" there. Deleting it removed the error message. [/

Don't know why it makes a difference, but it does. Maps that are not created with the ingame map designer work solely when put in the galaxy subdirectory located in the install directory.
The problem is not the file, or the map, but where you put it. If you put it in "install directory"\Galaxy it works fine. If you put it in the "local settings"\ironclad games\sins of a solar empire\galaxy directory, you have that problem. So there is nothing wrong with Galaxy forge.
Wormholes are something in the release version. You can see a screenshot of them [link="https://www.sinsofasolarempire.com/images/screenshots/Sins_Gamma_1680_4.jpg"]here.[/link]
The option is still there. Just go to the [link="http://totalgaming.stardock.com/games/?id=SINS"]Totalgaming.net Sins of a solar empire page[/link] and preorder from there.
I just noticed that in sins all keyboard keys react on the key-up event instead of the customary key-down event; In most RTS games, such as starcraft, there is an reaction when the key is pressed, not when it is released. The reason for that is obvious, it allows for faster control, since it allows the game to react faster to each command. Since sins has such a slower pace than most RTS games, this fast reaction is not so necessary of course, but the reacting on key-up results in a annoying
[quote] does that mean if i have to format my pc i can only install sins again once? [/quote] No. It means that if you have installed the game at more than two computers at once, you are technically breaking the EULA.
Yes it is capped at 2000. That cap however, is easily moddable for single player. Look in Sins of a Solar Empire\GameInfo\gameplay.constants file and maxshipslots is the first entry to edit.

I noticed a camera bug. It seems that icons are always drawn in front of 3d models, even when they are behind in game. So when you move the camera so that you look at a planet, you see the icons of the ships behind the planet in front of the planet. This looks very odd, and is probably a bug. Models behind models works fine, and so do icons behind icons.
When I install sins of a solar empire and activate it, right clicking it in SDCentral still gives the activation option. But if I copy the sig bin file from C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\License to the installation directory, the activation option dissapears. So SDCentral looks at the wrong place for the Sins of a Solar Empire sig.bin file for determening wether the activation option in the right click menu appears. Can this be fix
1. An option to choose where games are saved, so I can put them on my empty drive instead of on my 20gb OS-only partition. You can always use an ntfs junction point to redirect the savegame directory to another drive. See this wikipedia page for information about this.
