Civ4 doesn't have "clan support" and seems to do OK. Actually, I can't think of a single 4x strategy game that has "clan support."

In the non-colonizable asteroid belts... there are extractors on the asteroids that say "Can be captured" but I can't seem to find a way to capture them.
I'll just add my 2 cents and say that I agree with everyone - pirates should be easily modded/removed. Overall, a good game though. I bought it at release based on the quality of GalCiv2 and I'm not disappointed.

This is one of very few games I've bought on the day it came out (the first since Half Life 2), without having read several reviews first... I must say I am not disappointed in the least.
First let me state that this game is like crack. It's kept me up WAY too late the last few nights. Anyway, my main rig is up on blocks right now for some upgrades and case-modding, so I put GalCiv2 on my laptop to tide me over. It works well except for one persistant bug--the mouse pointer "glitches". I don't know how else to describe it--it's as if it's picking up what is on the desktop behind it in a block around the cursor, which flashes as I move it around. The same is true if I enable t
