oh so his referring to my previous post, I thought he was planning to give us up to date numbers (unless they are the same between beta and gamma, which I doubt) and maybe it wasn't included just yet in the post. well we will have the new numbers in a few days anyway.
This data is shown above and forms a nice table.
is the data missing from the post? since I cant see any specifics.
astarax its 285 ships if you go purely frigates thats my first concern.
in that screen your showing a mid level research that increases the supply from 550-820, most likely the other research projects in the same line (same symbol that gets more things around it) increase it to over 2.5k-4k supply for 100% upkeep (the amount of supply per percentage gets larger per upgrade).

I think we should wait and see how the retail interface portrays damage, but in beta you can only see attack rate in the ship data files or by measuring yourself (doubt anyone did that) :). hopefully the gamma interface has changed to include some of the data.

if no one puts it up by the time I get home(3-4 hours), I will copy the armour/damage modifiers from the file, so you can see actual numbers.

economy. I highly doubt that a race that is on a run and only cares about exploiting the local area as fast as possible and moving to the next area (wouldn't mind the side effect of the local area being fully devastated in the process), would use the infrastructure of a trading species who most likely do care about the sectors they live in. you can even see the differences in economies in todays world, difference between countries.

list of ships, that dont include a few revealed in the last few seasons, cap ships could represent special ships that hold the main "heroes" (different model, larger, more firepower, special abilities). whats missing is wraith ships and more ancient ships. ye its possibly the travel speed that makes it seem a bit slow, in smaller games.

It was obviously streamlined to fit into a RTS framework, especially for MP (there wont be pausing every 10 seconds for one person to start deciding what to do) The tech tree and building options are nothing like moo2, but are significantly better than most previous RTS 4xgames(o.r.b, hegemonia and a few others). heres some clear differences between moo2 and sins -moo2 is turn based, sins real time. -moo2 has hundreds of things to research (although most will not be res

It is much easier to just let humans to observe the game than making the editor.
I never stated that this would be the only option in the long run, I just said that as a short term solution

take a current map, add one star system | planet that is not connected to others, place human player into that star system | planet, run game in background or when your not using cpu (asleep / at work). stop game after x time (the a.i's might not kill each other in over a day, seriously) and view replay. problems that might occur: computers allie with each other (use locked teams to avoid). computers never kill each other.

well back on topic, the problem as I see it is: 1- In small games whereby vasari cannot tech up to the appropriate techs, they have a distinct disadvantage at this time. 2- In games where vasari can tech up they are extremely strong, especially if they can abuse the dark fleet too much (it might be broken atm (creating -30 to -300 supply in some cases), but Im sure there will be a few ways to abuse it even if it is limited by supply. Basically the vasari create a probl
Carriers and Fighters Why do the Vasari risk such valuable population manning such things? oh before I downloaded the hotfix, I had a completely new installation of beta 4 (didnt just update 3 to 4).

hi Im not sure why but once in beta phase 3 the english file was deleted after sins crashed (cannot play the game unless I re-install since it cannot find the file), now since it only happened once it wasnt worth mentioning, but it was deleted yesterday after I downloaded the hotfix (beta 4 was working beforehand). After which I had to re-install completely and it was there (for now I will just make a backup of it somewhere so I can just copy it back). I have no idea why it was

reminds me of master of orion, where by theres one planet in the middle and once you defeat the guardian you get the planet and all the tech of the orions and a new ship. hmm wonder if you can make something like that. super unique ship that gaurds it and takes whole fleet of caps to kill, but once it dies the player gets the planet immediatly and many bonuses.

I really think other factions should be tested in the beta, for game balance reasons (especially if they want MP to be balanced). Maybe beta 4? The devs have confirmed, and alas locked in stone, that we will not be seeing the other races until release. I'm sure some reviewers

In reference to the game list that included overlord/ET:quake wars...etc. overlord and ET:quake wars use: ..\usergroup|name\my documents\appropriate directory sins of a solar empire uses: ..\usergroup|name\applications and data\ironclad\... I can say the only other game I have using applications and data is cnc3, the rest(including 3 from the list posted previously) use my documents.
